Chapter 305: The Rain God’s Projection

Chapter 305: The Rain God’s Projection

Shihou stood on a golden cloud, with gods chanting behind him and deities and demons dancing in a terrifying spectacle.

The auspicious clouds were brilliant, granting him unprecedented speed. He moved with lightning speed, approaching the massive lotus flower.

Around him, various divine artifacts were displayed, constructed from runes, creating an astonishing celestial phenomenon. Bells, towers, swords, and cauldrons roared with deafening clangs.

As he raised his hand, a large bell flew out, its surface golden and inscribed with runes. Its deep, resonant tone vibrated for miles, striking at the heart of the lotus flower, aiming for direct destruction.

With a "bang," the petals of the flower burst open, releasing a wave of light and mist that was incredibly terrifying, resembling a boiling sea of stars. The immense power of the flower was evident as celestial bodies flickered within.

The bell clashed with the flower, creating continuous, thunderous roars.

In the distance, everyone was dumbfounded by this bizarre sight.

"Dong."

The bell's sound was distant and profound, as numerous stars collided with it, causing shivers and soul-stirring resonance.

Eventually, the bell shattered and scattered into the void. The terrifying starry mist was also forced back into the flower’s core, a shocking sight as if stars were falling.

This was the eighth flower, which had not yet fully bloomed. Although it had absorbed a great deal of energy from Ye Fan, it still had one final attack left.

Shihou's body was on the verge of bursting, unable to continue absorbing and refining energy. Thus, he launched an assault, radiating divine might.

"Chi."

Beside him, a divine sword clanged as he held it. The golden blade emitted a blinding light, sharp enough to make everyone squint and unable to look directly.

He swung the sword, covered in runes, accompanied by lightning. The divine sword sliced through the lotus petals, causing them to disintegrate in the void.

"What a powerful strike!" The crowd gasped, astonished.

However, after this attack, the golden divine sword also vanished and could not remain for long.

"Buzz."

The lotus flower trembled and its petals opened up again. This eighth flower was extremely powerful, far surpassing the previous seven.

Shihou grabbed a tower constructed from runes nearby and fully summoned its power, piercing through a petal and heading towards the Rain Tribe members, intending to deal with them first and force the technique to collapse.

"Boom."

At that moment, something strange occurred. The eighth rain curtain, representing the eighth lotus flower, seemed to have a life of its own, wildly expanding and blocking Shihou’s path.

Furthermore, the mist from the flower’s core surged out again like thin smoke formed from starry rivers, with tremendous attacking power.

"This is the essence of rain power," someone whispered, with all spectators growing extremely tense.

"Break through!" Shihou roared, and all nearby artifacts, including cauldrons and spears, launched their attacks. Though each could only strike once, their power was immense.

"Boom."

A terrible explosion of light erupted. The eighth flower shattered, and Shihou was thrown backward, coughing up a mouthful of blood, suffering injuries.

However, due to his exceptional physique, his body quickly recovered with a slight adjustment, leaving a residual image as he rushed towards the Rain Tribe members.

"Whoosh."

With a sweep of his broken sword, he instantly severed a dozen people at the waist.

Yet, surprisingly, despite the injuries sustained by many, the ninth lotus flower appeared in the heavens. No one had summoned it, so its emergence caused Shihou to quickly retreat.

"Is the Rain God still alive? This is the Rain Tribe's treasure technique. It is said that it can display eight flowers, while the ninth flower appears as a projection sensed by the Rain God in response to descendants' summons."

In the distance, someone murmured, clearly a powerful noble, observing closely.

Nearby, everyone also gasped, having heard the legends. The final attack was a forbidden killing move. The ninth flower typically did not appear and could only be activated under special conditions.

A few knew that it was the Rain God manifesting, descending from endless time and space with a trace of power.

Shihou desperately operated his technique, drawing in endless energy. The dimming cloud beneath him reappeared, countering the blooming flower and refining divine power.

Moreover, a clanging sound was heard around him, as various weapons reappeared. Simultaneously, the figures of gods became more tangible, arrayed around him, resonating together.

These were figures emerging from a golden vortex, filling the void, creating a breathtaking scene.

It was akin to the resurgence of deities and demons in the present world, a manifestation of the Kunpeng's power. People mistook it for a strange phenomenon.

"Boom."

Unfortunately, the ninth flower, still half-bloomed, was about to wither but the released divine power still stunned everyone, making Shihou’s hair stand on end.

Upon contact, he was blasted away, unable to fully refine the energy. He coughed blood, his flesh vibrating.

Although the flower was half-withered, turning into fine rain mist, the mist surging from its core was even more intense and terrifying. Was it thin smoke formed from starry rivers?

Stars were rotating, and the sun and moon were flickering, creating an extraordinarily strange sight. What shocked Shihou the most was the appearance of a faint figure, sitting amidst the mist and stars.

At that moment, not only was Shihou stunned, but so was everyone else. The manifestation of water power and rain symbols had unexpectedly given rise to such a peculiar figure.

"Heaven have mercy, the Rain God is not dead. He is still alive," the Rain Tribe members cried out.

"Ha ha ha, truly alive. The Rain God’s ancestor is still around. Although separated by endless time and space, he still exists in this world."

The Rain Tribe people went mad, both crying and shouting, causing a chilling atmosphere as the entire tribe reacted similarly.

The Rain God’s survival was such a shocking announcement that it not only frightened Shihou but also made other watching cultivators shiver. Was it true?

Ignoring everything else, Shihou put all his strength into his attacks. Surrounding weapons, formed from runes, including bells, towers, swords, and cauldrons, resonated and descended together to suppress the figure and disperse the mist.

"Boom."

The mist dissipated significantly, revealing a majestic figure sitting in the void, eyes closed, solemn and divine, making one involuntarily inclined to bow in submission.

In the distant sky, a noble murmured, "Could it be that the Rain God is truly trapped outside endless time and space, still alive and not in this realm? Otherwise, how could such a projection appear?"

The runic weapons were destroyed, but Shihou still stood on auspicious clouds, holding a black broken sword, facing the figure.

Especially around him, the figures of gods appeared one after another, sacred and radiant, as if chanting spells, with a terrifying aura.

Though Shihou felt the pressure, he still smiled. Was the Rain God in front of him? But he still had numerous divine figures manifesting on his side.

The spectators were also astonished. This phenomenon was indeed unique, perfectly countering each other.

"Buzz."

The seated figure seemed about to move, to open its eyes, but each attempt failed.

Even so, as the figure moved, it released an astonishing force, shaking in all directions. Shihou was at the forefront. Despite his utmost defense, he was still injured, coughing blood.

"What if you are a god?" Shihou persisted, charging forward, as he noticed the figure slowly raising its hand, which was incredibly terrifying.

The aura was incredibly powerful, forcing Shihou to glow with radiance as he merged with the Undying Golden Body, releasing dazzling light. He was determined to fight with all his might.

This was not a real god but merely a projection cast from endless time and space. Shihou aimed to shatter it.

"The Rain God, trapped somewhere, if alive, has endured great trials. After such a long time, a trace of his aura has manifested again—it's truly unpredictable," whispered voices came from the direction of the palace.

Shihou's combat power soared, having fused with the Undying Golden Body, advancing to the level of a noble. His entire body gleamed with dark light, and the divine figures around him had also solidified significantly.

At the same time, the Kunpeng technique was secretly activated, preparing for a thunderous strike.

One could not deny, the fearless Shihou remained undaunted by the Rain God's projection. He was determined to overthrow it, his battle spirit extremely high.

"Boom."

Countless golden light rains danced. Shihou unleashed the Kunpeng technique, but the first attack was a feint, not a killing move. Endless golden raindrops covered the area.

The true Kunpeng power had already been exerted, applied to the broken sword, turning into a black beam that descended sharply. He kept this concealed, not wanting others to discover his mastery of the ancient and formidable Kunpeng technique.

He believed that unless the heavy pupil appeared, others would find it hard to see through.

This strike was earth-shattering, accompanied by divine incantations that augmented his power, making it even more terrifying, shaking the universe.

"Bang."

The vague figure’s raised hand collided with the dark light. The two were silently engulfed, followed by a violent explosion, the noise deafening.

This was a tremendous clash. Shihou poured all the absorbed energy and divine power into this attack.

His body was thrown backward, continuously coughing up blood.

The Rain Tribe members wanted to cheer, but they saw the seated projection’s arm slowly cracking and then exploding.

"What is this Rain God?" the Rain Tribe members screamed.

They were thrown into chaos. How could this be? The Rain God's projection had lost an arm. This was impossible; it must be an illusion.

"Do not panic. The Rain God is unharmed. This is only his projection, indicating that he is too far from our barren realm to control the descending projection, thus greatly reducing its power," a senior elder of the Rain Tribe appeared, loudly proclaiming to calm the chaos.

In the distant sky, many observers, including nobles, were watching.

"It seems that past rumors and news were inaccurate. It was said that the Rain God was dead, but now it’s clear that he still has life energy, though in a distant realm."

"However, his condition must be dire; otherwise, why would the projection be so weak?"

Shihou steadied himself, stood up again, wiped the blood from his mouth, and took out several spirit herbs, chewing them like carrots and swallowing them directly.

He glowed with divine light, runes flickering. The golden cloud beneath him vanished, the shadows of gods behind him also faded, and the bells, towers, swords, and cauldrons had long since disintegrated.

But Shihou remained fearless, pointing ahead. The Undying Golden Body emitted a faint cold light, and the broken sword in his hand seemed to be reviving on its own, emitting light and pointing directly at the Rain God’s projection.

"Whoosh."

In the final strike, Shihou charged forward, putting all his strength into it, slashing towards the front.

The Rain God’s projection seemed to waver, appearing unstable. Its eyes continually trembled as if trying to open, emanating an unparalleled aura of majesty.
