Chapter 316: Conquering the Heavens

Chapter 316: Conquering the Heavens

Chapter 3: Conquering the Heavens

The third chapter was very challenging to write. It was revised over and over, and I was never satisfied with it, so I’m uploading it so late.

"No problem, as long as you can handle it. To the left is a celestial fairy, to the right is a demoness, and in the middle are gods and demons. The key is whether you can manage it," the demoness provocatively said.

Yuechan Fairy's expression remained calm. She was pure and spotless, and generally ignored such vulgar remarks.

"What's the problem?" Shi Hao asked.

"If you can handle it, first subdue this fairy and make her comply. That would be the true mark of a demon lord. Otherwise, don’t entertain any other thoughts," the demoness smiled.

In the end, Shi Hao left, descending from the Moon Watching Tower, leaving the fairy and the demoness in a standoff. He pondered quietly, believing there wouldn’t be any issues for now, as they wouldn’t take any action.

The future was uncertain; there might be fierce battles. Both women were incredibly powerful, representatives of the supreme sects that couldn't be bound by a single domain.

"Now that the matter here is settled, I’m going to practice. Don’t provoke me, or I’ll carry all of you back to the village," the young boy declared fiercely, waving at the tavern.

This was a small vow he made after stepping out of the wilderness and feeling the threat. Carry them all away.

"Haha, wasn’t it to eat them all?" A girl in the distance chuckled. Although not as breathtakingly beautiful as Yuechan Fairy and the demoness, she was still very fresh and charming, with a tall and slender figure.

Evidently, she knew Shi Hao well and was aware of his catchphrase, "eat them all."

The young boy suddenly felt embarrassed. How did this scene get noticed? He had been too engrossed and hadn’t paid attention.

"You’re the sister of the Conquering Heaven Marquis," he finally recognized. He had seen this girl from afar at the Qinglin Garden, surrounded by a group of young men, and the center of attention.

"My brother wants to have a talk with you," the girl said with a gentle smile.

"The Conquering Heaven Marquis is looking for me?" Shi Hao was surprised. At such a time, most people would avoid provoking him, fearing it could lead to trouble.

"My brother has a straightforward temperament. He thinks you’re agreeable. In my opinion, you both are like-minded, so he wants to have a drink and chat with you, without caring about external opinions," the girl murmured.

"Alright, I’ll go meet him," Shi Hao nodded.

The Conquering Heaven Marquis was the youngest marquis of the Shi Kingdom, only twenty-five years old, and had been titled a marquis for several years. His astonishing talent and power were evident.

This was a quiet garden and tavern, reserved only for specific guests. If you were not a regular, you could not enter.

Clearly, as a powerful and influential newly risen marquis, the Conquering Heaven Marquis had the status to be a distinguished guest here and knew of this secluded place.

In the depths of the garden, there were many courtyards. One of them was open, with a beautiful environment and various rare flowers and herbs, exuding an enchanting fragrance.

"To carry them all away, hahaha, that’s truly impressive. A model for us all," the Conquering Heaven Marquis laughed heartily, inviting Shi Hao in.

In the courtyard stood a jade table with many delicacies. Several chairs made of unknown spiritual wood had a subtle luster, with a faint flow of energy. It was an ideal place for a small gathering.

The Conquering Heaven Marquis was tall, with flowing hair and sharp eyes. He talked with Shi Hao, accompanied by several young noblewomen from the capital.

"Even if I am bold, it’s just talk. Unlike you, who actually brought four back," Shi Hao said, looking at the four young women.

"These weren’t brought by me. We share similar interests and are here to drink together. Besides, they are curious and want to meet you," the Conquering Heaven Marquis said.

The Conquering Heaven Marquis was a straightforward person. On the battlefield, he was decisive and formidable, but in reality, he was very casual, enjoying the company of a woman and laughing.

"You invited me for a drink. Aren’t you worried about the hostility from outside? I have many enemies," Shi Hao remarked.

"Do I fear those people?" The Conquering Heaven Marquis sneered, showing no concern, and then gestured for the beautiful women nearby to pour wine.

"Even if you’re not afraid of those major powers and marquises, if that giant spider targets you, it will be troublesome," Shi Hao warned. He didn’t want those related to him to be entangled.

"How many more days can it bounce around? The wasteland will be in chaos soon. Some beings may seem strong now, but they will eventually be dealt with," the Conquering Heaven Marquis said, unafraid.

Shi Hao was intrigued. Was this a major calamity that would shock the level of such powerful beings?

He felt that the Conquering Heaven Marquis might be aware of certain situations, possibly waiting for the impending chaos.

"You seem indifferent to the chaos in the wasteland, merely watching coldly," Shi Hao commented.

"What’s the use of fear? If we seize that slim chance, we might benefit. When the chaos erupts, even ancient nations and giant spiders might not survive," the Conquering Heaven Marquis spoke boldly, not fearing that his words would be overheard by the young women present.

He looked at Shi Hao and said, "In the future, there might be opportunities for cooperation. In this great chaos, outsiders cannot flood in in large numbers; it will rely on us from within the domain. You and I might just rise to prominence."

Shi Hao thought silently and then nodded. At that moment, he thought of many things and finally asked, "Where did you get this information?"

"From my teacher," the Conquering Heaven Marquis replied.

Evidently, it was someone of great standing. Shi Hao didn’t press further; everyone had their own secrets.

"I didn’t invite you here just to talk about trivial matters. I admire your boldness. You dismantled the Rain King’s Mansion and fought the Martial King’s Mansion. It’s very impressive. I also admire Lord Fifteen, so I invited you for a drink. Come, come, let’s talk more about romance and moonlight. Warfare is my specialty, and enjoying the world’s pleasures is also my hobby," the Conquering Heaven Marquis said, carefree, pulling a woman close and having her pour him wine.

"Are you showing off your carefree demeanor for me to gape at? I’m just here drinking on my own," Shi Hao grumbled.

"Hehe," a girl nearby came over to pour him wine.

"I look forward to seeing you carry Yuechan Fairy and that demoness back. I feel that you will do it sooner or later," the Conquering Heaven Marquis laughed heartily.

His invitation wasn’t just for casual talk. It was mainly to exchange views on the future changes and not to deceive Shi Hao for his youth.

"Some so-called gods in our domain are not true gods, but we have the conditions to create supreme gods. That’s why even the two major sects can’t hold back," the Conquering Heaven Marquis said.

Shi Hao asked curiously, "I’ve always wondered how strong the experts of the Heaven Supplementing Sect and the Heaven Cutting Sect are. Can they really control a domain?"

"They are indeed very strong, terrifyingly so, to the point where you and I can only look up to them. In our wasteland, we can hardly find true gods. As for the two major sects," the Conquering Heaven Marquis did not elaborate.

"It’s really dull, fighting and killing without much meaning," Shi Hao said, drinking.

"Actually, I don’t want to get involved in future chaos because we don’t have much qualification. But if we don’t act, we won’t survive in the future, only for self-preservation," the Conquering Heaven Marquis said.

"I might as well retreat to the mountains, carry back two fat guys, and then hide. After the great calamity passes, I’ll have improved my cultivation. Who dares to provoke me, I’ll eat them all," Shi Hao burped and said.

"Haha, that will be up to you," the Conquering Heaven Marquis laughed.

"I’m curious, who will take action and trigger the chaos?" Shi Hao asked.

"Taboo," the Conquering Heaven Marquis said, narrowing his eyes with a hint of fear. This was what his teacher had told him: it was a taboo, and the major sects from beyond the domain were taking advantage of it, following the taboo.

There were also rumors that the taboo came from those major sects.

"Watch closely. When the chaos begins, someone will support forces in our wasteland. At that time, both you and I will be passively dragged into it. Rather than that, it’s better to seize what should be ours ourselves," the Conquering Heaven Marquis said, making Shi Hao's expression change. The uncontrollable future seemed frightening.

The Conquering Heaven Marquis continued, "Some are focused on the boundless starry sky, the vast sea of stars, while others are focused on our wasteland. Some only care about romance and poetry, and others live only in the mundane."

"I just want a world of freedom," Shi Hao whispered.

"Then rise in the wasteland, rule the entire domain, and become the only Emperor. Only then might you achieve what you desire. Otherwise, well..."

The drinking session lasted a long time, and both were quite drunk, unable to remember what they had talked about. In the end, the Conquering Heaven Marquis patted Shi Hao on the shoulder and said, "I wish you success in bringing those two women from beyond the domain back to your village soon. I think it will be very interesting and will give those major forces from beyond the domain a memorable experience. Hahaha."

"Wait for my news," Shi Hao, also drunk, picked up one of the women and left, causing a burst of screams.

"Put my sister down!" the Conquering Heaven Marquis shouted angrily.

"Smack," Shi Hao gave the woman’s ample bottom a slap and said, "I thought something was off. I’m leaving."

He hiccupped and wobbled away.

"The chaos is about to begin," Shi Hao murmured to himself.

Time passed quickly, and soon the day of the Emperor's birthday arrived. The grand palace would be fully open, and important guests were allowed inside.

Having gained fame from a recent battle, Shi Hao naturally received an invitation. Since the Emperor himself had paid attention to him and rescued him from the giant spider, he received a golden invitation, marking him as a distinguished guest.

Of course, this wasn’t a command from the Emperor himself but a decision made by lower officials based on the situation. It wasn’t feasible to have everyone pay homage to the Emperor, so they created something akin to a pass.

The grand palace was magnificent and majestic, an ancient building bathed in golden light under the morning glow, resembling an ancient temple.

Upon closer inspection, one found that the human figure seemed too insignificant in comparison. It appeared to be built for giants, with the buildings incredibly grand and awe-inspiring.

At the entrance of the inner city of the palace, two enormous qilins were stationed. They were powerful and fearsome ancient beasts, majestic and grand, with a lineage that was quite impressive.

It was said that deep within the palace, there was an old qilin that had lived for a long time and had become a guardian spirit for the royal family.

"The royal family is indeed impressive," Shi Hao sighed, guessing more from a corner of the palace.

Guests continued to arrive, and the numbers grew. They were all powerful individuals, and the aura they emitted was unsettling. Undoubtedly, the place would be very lively today, and something extraordinary was bound to happen.
