"Really tough, not tasty at all," Stone Hao said with a frown. He bit down on the divine decree, expending a great deal of effort to break it, realizing it was impossible to simply swallow it whole.
He had to grind it with his teeth, chew it forcefully, and looked very dissatisfied, finding the taste quite poor.
The Rain Clan members were frantic. This was not the first time something like this had happened. Years ago, in the Void God Realm, the troublemaker had done the same thing, chewing on the divine decree like a bear and managed to eat a piece.
It was precisely because of that incident that the decree became damaged. As a result, in the last major confrontation with the Fifteenth Lord, the decree's full power could not be displayed, leading to disgrace for the Rain Clan.
Ultimately, the root of the disaster lay here; it was all because this vicious child had chewed away a part of the decree, causing their divine artifact to be weakened.
Seeing the tragedy repeat itself, the Rain Clan members were driven mad. Each one was so enraged that they nearly lost their composure, especially some of the elders who almost fainted from anger.
How could this happen again? How did he manage to grab another piece? He was chewing it like a rabbit nibbling on cabbage, making crunching sounds, and eating it with apparent delight.
A group of people acted swiftly, launching a fierce attack. Their treasures spread across the sky, unfolding like a spectacular display.
While Stone Hao continued to chew on the divine decree, he took out a porcelain bowl. The bowl emitted auspicious clouds and spun rapidly, absorbing more than a dozen treasures, refining them at high speed, drawing in their essence to repair himself.
"This thing is really something. What material is the bottom of this bowl made of?" Stone Hao was quite surprised. After he bought it, he broke the seal on the bottom of the bowl with a broken sword and discovered its immense power.
"Whoosh."
At the same time, several people flew into the air and rushed towards Stone Hao, quickly being absorbed into the small bowl. The bowl's rim glowed with swirling light, and the people were soon turned into a puddle of blood and mud, which then automatically spilled out.
"Return my divine decree!" someone shouted angrily.
On the street, outside the Rain Clan's residence, a group of people were dumbfounded. All the onlookers were astonished. That was the divine mark, bearing the power of the Rain God, and it had been eaten.
People felt that the clan was incredibly unlucky. If it were only once, it might be bearable, but this was the second time. It seemed the decree was specifically meant for the troublemaker to consume.
"Crunch."
Stone Hao bit down hard and finally chewed it enough to swallow, saying, "So-so, the taste is still better than last time."
"Go to hell!" someone shouted, activating a formation, but it was still ineffective. Stone Hao retreated, avoiding stepping into their trap.
"How could this happen? What’s going on? Why did the divine decree inexplicably end up in his hands? Investigate this immediately!" an elder roared.
They had only just activated the temple and opened the altar, not yet truly using the decree to subdue their enemies.
"Whoosh."
Golden light flashed in the deepest part of the Rain Clan's forbidden grounds, in the backyard, where large pieces of golden light disappeared and then flew towards Stone Hao.
Without a doubt, the small tower had swallowed another large piece. However, it was so fast that people couldn’t see the truth. There were two remaining pieces: one had its fierce killing intent and golden light removed and landed on the indestructible golden body, while the other appeared in Stone Hao’s hand.
"This is more like it; sharing is caring." The troublemaker felt a bit balanced now, otherwise he would feel like he was getting the blame without any reward.
"Crunch."
He continued to eat as if munching on a carrot, making crisp, clear crunching sounds, especially with the sound of grinding teeth since the material was so tough.
The Rain Clan members were going mad. This was truly outrageous. How did this kid manage to get two more pieces? One piece merged into the black battle armor, turning into light and disappearing. The other became his meal. Even the oldest and most stable ancestors of the clan were jumping up and down in frustration.
"Quick, stop him. Retrieve the decree immediately!"
They were exasperated, fuming and glaring. They wished they could skin the kid alive. This situation was incredibly frustrating. How could something like this happen?
In the distance, all the onlookers were stunned, feeling at a loss for words.
What was supposed to be a life-and-death battle, extremely fierce, especially with the use of the Rain God’s decree, which indicated a blood catastrophe was imminent, now seemed oddly joyful.
Indeed, people found it amusing, contrasting sharply with the earlier gloom. The Rain Clan was too generous—was this a gift of the divine decree for people to eat?
"I say, Rain Clan brothers, give me a piece too. I want to taste it," someone joked, causing many to laugh.
"Little brother, is the decree tasty?" someone asked Stone Hao, teasing the Rain King’s residence.
"Not really, it's like cowhide, very tough, and doesn’t taste good," Stone Hao commented.
"Haha," laughter erupted on the street.
The Rain Clan members turned pale with anger. This was truly unrestrained. This youth made them feel more distressed than facing a great demon. Such mockery and ridicule made it hard for the Rain Clan to maintain its footing in the imperial capital.
For ancient families, this was the worst situation possible. Reputation and prestige were highly valued, and now they had been trampled upon.
"Report to the ancestors, several pieces of the divine decree have inexplicably flown away. It was not us who summoned them," someone whispered, reporting the true situation.
"Summon the decree!" an elder roared, unable to bear the humiliation. He ordered everyone to use the divine decree to subdue the troublemaker.
Although many people felt uneasy and had a foreboding sense, they still did not stop their actions. The ancestors' orders were commands that could not be disobeyed.
The Rain King had been severely wounded by a great demon's arrow and had already left the imperial capital to recuperate in the ancestral land. Now, the commands of several ancestors were absolute.
The radiant decree soared, with pieces not whole but could be pieced together to form a complete unit, now radiating intense light, like a blazing sun.
Golden beams of light flew out in waves, scattering in all directions, peaceful and sacred, yet with an immense majesty that made people reluctant to defy it and forced submission.
This was a vessel carrying the will of the gods, transformed into a divine artifact, and had been spiritually connected over countless ages.
It was evident that the decree was covered with dense text, each symbol representing a principle of order, a manifestation of the divine chain. If it fell upon a person, it would immediately subdue them.
The reason Stone Hao could chew on the decree in the real world was that the small tower had removed the divine light from the paper, making it harmless.
As the decree was summoned and assembled in the sky, it descended with overwhelming divine might. The divine aura surged, stirring emotions and causing shivers.
People on the street fell silent. They were overwhelmed by the pressure, and many weak-willed individuals collapsed to the ground, while others retreated, trembling all over.
"Did I eat all the pieces that were missing from the decree?" Stone Hao murmured. His voice was low, but many people heard it.
The Rain Clan members' faces turned various shades of blue and white with anger, while the distant onlookers nearly laughed again. Ultimately, it seemed the Rain Clan's decree was indeed damaged by his hands.
But under such divine power, no one could laugh
"Kill!" The elder of the Rain Clan roared. He wanted to see with his own eyes what force was stripping away the pieces of the decree.
However, the great weapon did not descend. Its entire body, glowing brightly, dimmed as if blocked by a mysterious force, and then three pieces of the decree abruptly vanished.
"Here we go again. This thing is really terrible; I’m starting to dislike eating it," Stone Hao's voice came through. Indeed, he had grasped another piece and was putting it into his mouth.
One more piece had merged with the black metal battle armor and disappeared. As for the third piece, the Rain Clan members did not see where it went.
After chewing through two pieces, Stone Hao was glowing with an inner radiance, mysterious runes appearing on his body, making him look like a balloon with dazzling light.
"This is really good stuff. The divine energy is amazing. I’ll keep it for now; I’ll need it when I enter the Realm of Inscription," Stone Hao said to himself, putting the third piece into his Qiankun Bag.
"I’ll take it for us," someone from the Rain Clan shouted.
"Not giving it," Stone Hao shot them a sidelong glance.
"Return our clan’s divine decree!" The people’s eyes were red with anger.
"It’s all mine," Stone Hao said, his eyes rolling as he looked at them. This made the group jump up and down, but they were helpless.
At this moment, the Rain Clan ancestors' faces turned dark with despair. They wanted to retrieve the decree and could no longer use it this way.
In the final moments, the pieces of the decree continued to disappear, leaving only six pieces. The pale golden decree, when combined, was left with only half a sheet.
At this moment, the Rain Clan members felt as if they were on the verge of death. Many had mournful faces, finding it a true disgrace.
"It’s time to go," the small tower reminded.
"Why not take them all?" Stone Hao asked in confusion.
"I am already walking a tightrope. If I continue, it will really disrupt the balance," the small tower explained.
A chill ran through Stone Hao. He didn’t know why, but every time he heard it mention "balance," it felt like a chilling killing intent sweeping across the entire world.
Stone Hao turned and walked out.
"Where do you think you’re going?" Someone from the Rain Clan stepped out of the formation and pursued him.
"Whoosh."
Stone Hao turned around, sweeping with his broken sword. The sword's light erupted, instantly cutting several people in half, one of whom was an elder of the clan, a crucial figure for the Rain Clan.
In the face of royal-level combat power, the elder was insufficient, even the ancestors were not a match; there was still a gap.
"Rain Clan, you better behave yourselves. You’ve got a few good years left, do you understand?" Stone Hao turned around. These were his final words, a naked threat.
The small tower did not act further. Without it, Stone Hao couldn’t deal with the divine decree and couldn’t attack the Rain Clan directly. Therefore, he turned and left in large strides.
He intended to save his real destruction for beings like the Ancient Demon Spider, not waste it here, as he felt using the small tower's opportunities here was a waste.
People were amazed. It was truly incredible that a mere youth could scold and threaten a royal clan with such dominance, and no one could stop him as he turned and left.
In a few flashes, Stone Hao disappeared from the Rain King’s residence because he had the Cool Peng treasure technique, which made him incredibly fast.
He knew that his identity was exposed. Since the Rain Clan knew, they would definitely inform the Stone Ziten lineage.
"Instead of that, I might as well go myself and tell you in person," Stone Hao decided. From now on, he would use his real name, Stone Hao, without any more disguises.
Moreover, and most importantly, he needed to bring someone out who had left him with an exceptionally beautiful childhood memory.
Such a massive amount of updates felt as heavy as a mountain. After writing all day, which was unprecedented, he continued to write the sixth chapter, asking for monthly votes.
