Chapter 272: King of Rain

Chapter 272: King of Rain

The King of Martial Arts was struck by an arrow, blood spilling from his wounds. He was shot down and fell into the courtyard, severely injured and unable to continue fighting.

At this moment, the world was eerily silent. The quiet stretched on for a long time, and the unexpected outcome left many in disbelief.

The King of Martial Arts had been defeated.

He had roamed the Great Wasteland with unparalleled might and had built an illustrious reputation over the years. With a demeanor like that of a conqueror and unmatched power, it was shocking to see him brought down by an arrow, with blood raining down.

How could this not be shocking?

This was the King of Martial Arts, a name powerful enough to shake the very foundations of the Stone Kingdom. To see him in such a state of defeat was almost beyond belief, leaving many in a daze.

Although he had rarely appeared in recent years, his reputation still loomed large. No one had anticipated such a result.

In the end, the capital city was abuzz with excitement. The battle had concluded with a resounding defeat for the King of Martial Arts. The Fifteenth Master had pierced his body with an arrow, rendering him incapable of further combat.

All the major lords and powerful families were discussing the battle with fervor. The fight had been intense, and its surprising conclusion left many astonished.

Both the royal families and ordinary cultivators were greatly excited, their voices rising to the heavens. The streets and alleys were filled with uproar.

This upheaval was bound to become a storm that would sweep through various regions, and it would be a hot topic for many days to come.

In the King of Martial Arts' residence, Shi Yuan and the others were pale-faced. The blow to them was devastating; with the King of Martial Arts defeated, their hopes for a comeback seemed shattered. The world felt as if it had been turned upside down.

Such a setback left them feeling utterly dejected, cold and harsh, as if their very souls had turned to ice.

As for the Fifteenth Master’s old comrades, they were initially stunned but then elated. The result was beyond their expectations. They had been worried but had not anticipated such a decisive victory.

“How could this happen? I can't believe it!” shouted an elder who had lost his cultivation. His body trembled, his eyes red with disbelief, staring at the fallen King of Martial Arts.

Shi Yuan and the others also looked ashen, their mouths agape, unable to find the words to express their shock.

“Are you alright, Fifteenth Master?” one of the old comrades called out, fearing he too might be severely injured.

In the sky, the Great Demon God’s radiant aura had dimmed, with blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. However, his spirit was vigorous, like a blazing furnace. He was in excellent condition and showed no significant harm.

Especially his eyes, which were exceptionally deep. The occasional divine light that shot from them was like lightning streaking across the sky. He descended and wiped the blood from his mouth.

This towering figure had defeated the King of Martial Arts, truly like a demon god. Every person felt a shiver of awe and trembled at the sight.

An authentic demon god.

In the distance, the King of Martial Arts struggled to stand. He had a gaping wound in his left rib, with broken bones and severe injuries. Any further battle would mean certain death.

He said nothing. At this point, any words would be meaningless. His divine light reappeared, enveloping himself, hiding his expression from view.

“I am defeated,” he said these three words and walked away.

“King of Martial Arts!” Shi Yuan and the others cried out.

“I have no interest in the position of King of Martial Arts,” the Great Demon God said calmly.

“Behind Yi’er stands a supreme powerhouse, one that neither you nor I can stop from rising.”

The King of Martial Arts’ body slightly faltered as he said these words, then he took large strides towards the palace. However, he suddenly collapsed with a thud and fainted.

Some people rushed forward to lift him and take him to a quiet room for treatment.

The Great Demon God waved his hand, and nine large flags flew back, shrinking into tiny pieces that disappeared into his palm. The formation outside the King of Martial Arts’ residence was dismantled.

At this moment, the King of Martial Arts’ residence was silent. No one dared to speak, and Shi Yuan and his group were drenched in cold sweat. They could no longer hold on and collapsed to the ground.

They felt as if the sky of their lives had turned dark and hopeless. With the Great Demon God’s return, would he take over the King of Martial Arts’ residence? How would they move forward?

Suddenly, rain began to fall from the sky, drizzling and then gradually increasing in intensity.

The Great Demon God’s eyes flashed with a menacing light, and he shouted, “Rain Clan, do you wish to die?”

This shout reverberated through the capital, with immense force shaking everything. The Great Demon God was furious, gazing up at the sky.

“Fifteenth, your temper is too fierce. Is this how you treat guests?” a calm voice said.

“What do you think this place is? How dare you provoke the King of Martial Arts’ residence and bring disaster to your clan?” the Great Demon God roared.

The rain was not naturally falling but was being poured by someone. With the arrival of a significant figure, the heavens began to rain, which was astonishing.

“King of Rain!”

Someone exclaimed, recognizing the newcomer. The Rain Clan’s long-absent king had come, adding to the commotion at the King of Martial Arts’ residence.

“Old Fifteenth, your temper is too big. I came as a guest, and this is how you treat me? This is no way to receive guests,” the King of Rain said. As soon as he appeared, he was surrounded by crystalline raindrops, appearing extremely hazy.

“Keep your rain to yourself and don’t make a fool of yourself. The King of Martial Arts’ residence is not a place where you can run wild,” the Fifteenth Master said with a deep voice, his expression grim.

The Rain Clan was known for residing in the wetlands and was famous for its control over rain. Their presence at the King of Martial Arts’ residence and the ongoing rain was a significant provocation.

The rain fell from the sky, shrouding everything in a mist. Within this glowing figure, there was an unusual atmosphere.

The King of Rain, powerful and astounding, wielded the power of rain, bathing in the sacred, luminous rain, subtly resonating with the heavens and earth.

“Old Fifteenth, you didn’t ask any questions but immediately threatened me. Your words are quite unkind,” the King of Rain said.

“You know very well who the ill-intentioned party is. However, it’s not entirely a bad thing for me. I will have to visit the Rain Clan sooner or later,” the Fifteenth Master said coldly, recalling the reports of how Zi Ling had repeatedly been thwarted by the Rain Clan.

When they were traveling to the Western Border with Shi Hao, they encountered numerous assassins. Shi Zi Ling had almost faced disaster while protecting their fragile young son.

“I give you two choices: one, get lost; two, wait for me to defeat you and then ascend to the Rain Clan,” the Great Demon God said with a cold voice.

The opponent’s arrogance was overwhelming, and the raindrops in the sky were becoming denser, ready to turn into weapons of attack, enveloping the entire Shi residence.

Many people at the King of Martial Arts’ residence were also enraged. The audacity of the opponent to provoke the Great Demon God like this stirred the emotions of the clan members, bringing a sense of relief.

Outside the residence, all the clans were astonished. Just as the great battle had ended, another conflict had erupted, which was truly unexpected. Another major battle seemed imminent.

“Alright, let me explain. I am here to assist the King of Martial Arts and clear the way for him. Old Fifteenth, you’ve been too arrogant. How dare you act so rebelliously after returning home after more than a decade?” the King of Rain suddenly shouted.

“Who are you yelling at? Do you want to die?” the Great Demon God immediately gripped his large bow, his gaze icy and intimidating.

“Given the King of Martial Arts' character, how could he possibly invite you?” The Fifteenth Master’s comrades were indignant. Even if there were disagreements, they would never invite the Rain Clan to assist in a battle against the Great Demon God.

The King of Rain had overstepped his bounds. He had dared to appear after witnessing the Fifteenth Master’s formidable strength, suggesting he had some form of support.

The King of Rain could not be stronger than the King of Martial Arts. His confident arrival indicated that he must have some terrifying means up his sleeve.

“I am acting on behalf of the King of Martial Arts, to help him clear his domain. Old Fifteenth, you’ve gone too far. Even if you’ve made progress after disappearing for so many years, it doesn’t give you the right to be so domineering,” said the King of Rain.

“What are you? How dare you make demands at the King of Martial Arts’ residence?”

The Fifteenth Master responded by drawing his bow and nocking an arrow. The entire bow glowed with light. Runes flowed, and a large arrow, black and white in color, was placed on the bowstring. It was aimed at the sky and erupted with brilliant light.

The King of Rain’s expression changed. Facing the unrivaled divine arrow of the Great Demon God, he felt a deep sense of dread. Despite being prepared, he still felt uneasy.

The Great Demon God was overwhelmingly powerful. He drew the bow with a whoosh, and the bowstring trembled. A dazzling arrow flew into the sky, piercing through the heavy rain and creating a booming sound as various water runes were shattered.

Boom!

It was as if a mountain was being hurled at the King of Rain. The sound was colossal, booming, and causing tremors in all directions.

The King of Rain retreated quickly, but against the legendary divine arrow of the Great Demon God, his evasive maneuvers were futile. The arrow would not stop until it reached its target.

Amid the rumbling, the arrow emitted runes, changing direction to relentlessly pursue him.

The King of Rain was astonished and stopped, a glowing shield appearing in front of him. Strange symbols floated in the air as he summoned a mysterious divine artifact, which was so brilliant it was almost blinding.

Clang!

A massive noise erupted, as if a deity was striking the heavens. The sound was so loud it caused a ringing in the ears and a pounding headache.

The black and white arrow struck the glowing object, being blocked as if by a divine shield, failing to penetrate it.

Despite this, the King of Rain was still greatly shaken. A tremendous force transmitted through the object, causing both him and the divine artifact to be blown back, crashing several hundred yards away.

One could only imagine the power of this arrow, which had directly sent the formidable King of Rain flying, like a mountain smashing into him.

Eventually, the King of Rain stabilized his position in the sky and put away the glowing object.

The Fifteenth Master’s expression was serious. He said, “This is related to the divine.”

Upon hearing this, there was silence all around. Many people were stunned, their hearts shaken as if they had seen a ghost, filled with fear.

“Old Fifteenth, are you afraid?” The King of Rain, enveloped in misty light, approached again with a calm but composed demeanor.

Rain continued to fall, creating a thin mist that covered the area. It was filled with runes, shrouding the place.

“I don’t know where you get the audacity to come to the King of Martial Arts’ residence and act so arrogantly. You are bringing disaster to the Rain Clan,” said the Great Demon God coldly, as if declaring his intention to confront the entire Rain Clan.

“I have stated that I am here to act on behalf of the King of Martial Arts, to clear his domain, not to come uninvited,” the King of Rain said calmly, growing even more composed.

“Who do you think you are, and why should we listen to you?” The old comrades of the King of Martial Arts could no longer contain their anger and shouted loudly.

They were concerned that since the King of Rain dared to come, he must have a powerful backup, and Old Fifteenth might be in danger, potentially facing a fierce battle.

“I invited the King of Rain here. He has the right to be here, after all, he is also related to Yi’er,” said a figure emerging from the mist. With a dreadful rhythm in his steps, he walked forward, seemingly blending with the world around him.

“It’s you,” some of the elders exclaimed.

This was a powerful man, blending with the natural world, exuding an inexplicable aura that exerted immense pressure.

“Zi Teng, have you returned?” From a distance, Shi Yuan trembled as he spoke. This was his own grandson and the biological father of Shi Yi.
