Chapter 289: Gathering of Heroes

Chapter 289: Gathering of Heroes

Shi Hao drove the chariot away, while the few people behind him were covered in lightning and black smoke, trembling with anger. They never expected to encounter such a fierce individual—simple and direct. He beat them up and then took their chariot.

To them, this was an utter humiliation. They had barely engaged in combat before being subdued, tossed to the ground like broken sacks.

The young man’s every word and action revealed his overwhelming strength and decisiveness. He directly seized their chariot, leaving them feeling utterly disgraced. They had tried to provoke trouble, only to get beaten instead.

Once the lightning dissipated, they crawled up from the ground, charred and furious. They were so angry that their lungs nearly burst. Should they still attend the gathering? Their chariot had been stolen—how humiliating.

"Who is that guy? Why have we never seen him before? He seems incredibly strong."

"If we don't attend the gathering and leave now, people will laugh at us."

The owner of the bronze chariot had a face that alternated between green and pale. This was a true self-inflicted humiliation. If he hadn't caused unnecessary trouble and provoked that fierce individual, this wouldn't have happened.

"This chariot belongs to my grandfather. I can't afford to lose it," he said, troubled.

"Let's wait here for a while. When we see someone we know, we can join them. Otherwise, leaving like this would be too embarrassing," someone suggested.

Shi Hao was in a great mood. Originally, he had been walking alone on this road, being pointed at and treated as an outsider. Now, the problem was solved.

This was an extraordinary bronze chariot with an ancient design, engraved with images of mountains, birds, beasts, fish, insects, and stars. The eight fierce beasts pulling the chariot were powerful, each one surrounded by a savage aura, clearly having been on a battlefield.

"Roar!"

Not long after setting off, the eight fierce beasts became restless. They were intelligent, realizing they had a new master and were unwilling to submit, attempting to throw Shi Hao off.

"Behave yourselves!" Shi Hao shouted, using a powerful technique. A golden-winged roc appeared and hovered in mid-air, staring down at them.

A tremendous pressure emanated, causing the eight fierce beasts to tremble, no longer daring to resist. The terrifying aura was an innate racial suppression.

Shi Hao hadn't even used the true Kunpeng technique—just a fragment of it. Otherwise, he feared it would attract disaster if discovered.

They arrived at Qinglin Garden, where a pair of enormous stone gates stood tall, as grand and imposing as two small mountains. The gates were open, and one chariot after another was driving inside.

"Hmm, that's the chariot of Marquis Lingyun. Even the young marquis has arrived," someone said, registering names at the entrance.

But when Shi Hao cheerfully greeted the people at the stone gate, the registrars were stunned—something didn’t seem quite right.

"Those guys lent me the chariot," Shi Hao greeted casually, driving into the garden.

Qinglin Garden was vast, with ample space for parking. The area ahead felt stifling because it was filled with fierce beasts, though they were all silent, without a single roar.

They had been trained and were forbidden from making noise.

Shi Hao noticed that this place was filled with terrifying chariots, all extremely powerful artifacts. Some of the chariots were even pulled by ancient beasts.

An adult ancient beast could dominate a region, yet several of these chariots were pulled by top-tier ancient species. It was clear how powerful their owners were.

"That's the chariot of the Battle King, and over there is the chariot of Marquis Shenwei."

Listening to people’s discussions, Shi Hao learned that these young descendants were using their grandfathers’ chariots to show off. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to command such fearsome ancient beasts.

"Liu Han, you just got here too?" As Shi Hao parked the chariot, a voice called out. He turned to see a golden chariot approaching, with a young man inside.

"Huh, you?" The young man was shocked. He recognized the chariot but noticed that the person in it was different.

The young man, about Shi Hao’s age, wore a golden dragon robe and resembled a prince. His eyes gleamed with a wild energy as he scrutinized Shi Hao.

"What’s going on? Isn't this Marquis Lingyun’s chariot? Why is it in your hands?" the young man asked sternly.

"Oh, they lent it to me. I'll return it to them later," Shi Hao replied, smiling amicably before walking away calmly.

Qinglin Garden was large. Shi Hao followed a path through an ancient forest, walking alongside many elegant young people until they reached the heart of the garden.

The trees here were sparse, and lush green grass covered the ground. Ahead was a vast, crystal-clear lake, blue and sparkling like a massive gemstone.

There were many people gathered here, all young elites, ranging from teenagers to those in their twenties. Each of them was extraordinary. Many had an imposing presence, with some exuding a startling aura.

Shi Hao noticed a few people who were particularly powerful, even making him marvel. These individuals didn’t seem to be human. The men had eyes as sharp as cold lightning, while the women were as beautiful as flowers.

"Wow, the Sixteenth Princess is here! She’s a dazzling jewel of the capital. Who’s that man walking with her?"

"He must be someone remarkable. Be careful and don’t speak carelessly."

In the distance, a graceful figure in a flowing yellow dress was moving gracefully. The Sixteenth Princess’s figure was enchanting, and beside her was a red-haired man with an outstanding aura.

Soon, there were more exclamations from another direction as a beautiful young woman appeared, surrounded by a group of admirers.

"That’s the younger sister of Marquis Huntian. Not only is she stunning, but her cultivation is also astonishing," someone whispered.

Not far away, her brother was even more of an attraction. Both men and women were flocking towards him.

Marquis Huntian had long black hair and a towering, muscular build. His dark gold armor gleamed with a black light. Standing there, he resembled a black mountain.

At just twenty-five years old, he had already been granted the title of marquis, guarding the frontier and achieving numerous victories. He was a direct descendant of the Stone Clan nobility and had recently acquired the Blood Demon Ruler at an auction.

On the battlefield, Marquis Huntian was ruthless, but in everyday life, he was carefree. He laughed heartily, his left arm around a beautiful woman’s waist, showing no restraint.

The woman wriggled slightly but soon stopped, her face blushing.

A crowd of people laughed, as young men eagerly approached to inquire about frontier warfare, while some of the women gazed at him with fiery eyes, joining in the conversation.

"This guy is really popular. A bunch of fat people are surrounding him," Shi Hao muttered under his breath.

Several people nearby heard him. Both men and women were stunned. Fat people? No one had noticed any fat people around Marquis Huntian. The women were all quite slender, though perhaps a little too well-endowed in certain areas.

"Huh? That guy who went to train at Little Western Heaven is back too!" Someone exclaimed, causing quite a stir. Many people turned to look in one direction.

There stood a young man, smiling radiantly, surrounded by several beautiful women, drinking and enjoying himself.

"I heard that Little Western Heaven is full of ascetic monks who preach abstinence, but this guy is a strange one. Every time he comes back, he indulges in debauchery and can't live without women," someone whispered.

Yet no one dared to underestimate him. His name was Li Baiting, and it was said that he had fully mastered the teachings of Little Western Heaven. His power was unmatched, making him invincible in the capital among those in their twenties.

If it weren't for the overwhelming brilliance of Shi Yi, this noble named Li Baiting would certainly have been extraordinarily dazzling.

Even so, he still garnered much attention. Just then, an indignant voice from a woman echoed, “Li Baiting, you’ve disappointed me too much. I must break off the engagement with you!”

Everyone turned to look. The voice belonged to a very beautiful woman, but at that moment, her face was flushed with anger. Seeing him behaving so recklessly, flirting publicly with several beautiful girls, was more than she could bear.

“Beauty, are you calling me? Come, have a drink,” Li Baiting, drunk and laughing wildly, waved her over. His response left the woman trembling with rage.

Everyone was stunned. This guy was even more lecherous and licentious than the rumors suggested. His fiancée was one of the brightest stars in the capital, ranked alongside the Sixteenth Princess and the eldest daughter of the Lei Clan, yet here he was, behaving so disgracefully.

“Throw him into the lake!” the young woman ordered angrily, directing her servant to act.

“Boom!”

However, when the elderly servant made a move, Li Baiting’s body radiated with a brilliant treasure light, and a wrathful golden guardian appeared behind him, sending the old servant flying, nearly into the lake.

“What? That’s the Invincible Diamond Technique, one of the secret arts of Xiaoxitian! Has he mastered it to this extent, that even older generations can’t deal with him?”

“Come, beauty, let’s keep drinking,” Li Baiting said, holding one of the girls by the waist and drinking with her intimately.

“You!” His fiancée was so furious she turned and left.

“What a debauched man,” Shi Hao murmured quietly. He had only been here for a short time but had already seen several unusual individuals.

“Jealous?” someone whispered near his ear, her breath warm and fragrant.

“Yes,” Shi Hao nodded.

“Sigh, so young and already so corrupt. Now I’m relieved; I can sell that pure fairy to you without worry,” the girl from the Heavenly Fox Clan said with a smile.

Shi Hao turned around. To be honest, he didn’t really want to stay around her. Although this woman was highly seductive to any man, she also posed a deadly danger.

“What’s the use of just talking? Can you really sell her to me?” Shi Hao challenged her, as she often teased him and always held the upper hand. He didn’t want to be passive every time.

“Don’t worry, I’ll sell her to you eventually,” the Heavenly Fox Fairy said with a laugh before walking away.

She had long legs, a slender waist as soft as a willow, full breasts, and a swan-like neck. Her skin was white like jade, and her beautiful face was alluring, with her eyes sparkling brightly.

As she walked, she indeed attracted everyone's attention. Whether male or female, they couldn’t help but gaze at her. Even Huntian Hou’s eyes glowed with wild desire.

Soon, many people flocked toward her, surrounding her as if she were a celestial star.

“Hmm, people from the Wu Wang residence have arrived as well.”

People noticed a few young members from the Wu Wang residence, all casting curious looks. The great battle involving the Demon God had shaken the capital, stunning everyone.

However, it seemed that in the end, he had been forced to leave. Now, the Wu Wang residence was divided into two factions, and people felt it wasn’t as powerful as before.

“What a pity. It’s not Shi Yi. I wonder if he will return.”

At the mention of that name, everyone was shaken. Though Shi Yi was only sixteen or seventeen, he had already shaken the capital, and no one dared to underestimate him.

People knew that in a few more years, Shi Yi could very well sweep away his enemies and become invincible.

“Has Shi Yi returned?” someone asked.

Those forces hostile to the Wu Wang residence were particularly provocative, with someone mocking, “I heard the Wu Wang residence has weakened. Only Shi Yi can turn the tide now.”

A young man from the Wu Wang residence, clearly drunk, called out, “You all understand nothing! The Wu Wang residence has more than just Shi Yi. There’s another, born a supreme being, and you dare look down on him?”

“Hahaha, what did we just hear? Another born supreme?” some people laughed.

“Hmm, have you split into two factions? Are you planning to create a Demon God Palace as well?” others mocked.

“If you mention Shi Yi, we respect him. Everyone present acknowledges that no one in the Stone Nation can rival him. He is worthy of the title ‘Young Supreme.’ We know you’re from the Demon God faction, but saying this is meaningless. Besides Shi Yi, who else can your clan rely on?” someone sneered.

These words naturally sparked much discussion. Some nodded in agreement, while others sighed with pity.

“I heard Shi Yi is also returning. Is it true? If he appears, that will be exciting. But don’t mention some vague, mythical ‘born supreme,’” a few people laughed.

“It’s true! In fact, our clan had another child. He was born a supreme being, named Shi Hao,” the drunk young man shouted, his voice shaking the nearby lake. The name “Shi Hao” rang out like thunder in everyone’s ears.
