This child is too arrogant. How could he be so bold? Everyone from the Rain Tribe is cursing him. He truly lives up to his reputation as the eccentric child from the Void God Realm; it's evident from the very beginning how exceptional he is.
Rain Zimo was in turmoil, her runes unstable. Meanwhile, Little One was relentlessly attacking, unleashing waves of golden lightning, one after another.
“Boom!”
The ancient scroll was damaged, and a delicate white object fell. The talented young woman from the Rain Tribe was horrified. Seizing the opportunity, Little One launched a swift assault, with lightning intertwining and blazing fiercely.
“Charge!”
“Everyone, attack together and slay him!”
By the lakeside, the geniuses roared, their runes flickering as they rushed forward to stop Little One. They couldn’t bear to watch Rain Zimo fall.
“Buzz”
Little One's speed was astounding. After breaking through the Rain Tribe's talented young woman, he advanced a step and punched forward, shattering the last of her runes with the electric force.
“Pfft”
Rain Zimo coughed up blood, which splattered onto her crystalline white chest, making it particularly noticeable. Her eyes shimmered with strange light, weaving into a net that aimed at Little One. This was her last strike with the spirit-sealing technique; if it proved ineffective, she would have to accept her fate.
Little One's fist shone brightly as it crashed into the net, still moving forward with unstoppable force. Although the electric light was enveloped, the terrifying divine power of his punch remained.
“Seal!”
Rain Zimo uttered a divine chant, doing her utmost to resist. She crossed her jade arms, which glowed with a white, shimmering brilliance, trying to block the impact of the punch.
“Crack!”
Upon contact, her arms instantly broke, and a tremendous force surged into her body. The violent shock made her mouth bleed, her ears buzz, and her bones felt like they were going to shatter.
This was an unstoppable divine force. If she hadn’t dispersed the massive force through her limbs at a critical moment, her arms would have been crushed beyond repair.
In terms of physical strength alone, Little One could contend with the pure-blooded ancient beast cubs. Against a human talent like her, he naturally had an overwhelming advantage. No matter how talented she was, her physical body couldn’t compare.
Rain Zimo was sent flying, blood splattering from her mouth. Shock appeared in her intelligent and deep eyes. She had only seen such explosive physical strength a few years ago in Shi Yi; she hadn’t expected this child to be so formidable.
“Where are you going, slender-waisted sister?” Little One called out. It seemed like taunting, but his eyes shone with fierce light as another punch came crashing down, accompanied by the golden bone scissors and the Sphinx Mirror, preparing for the final strike.
On the lake shore, the numerous geniuses attacked together, but they couldn’t stop Little One’s advance. They were unable to change the outcome.
This left them astonished. They prided themselves as geniuses and the hope for their clan’s rise and glory. Despite their combined efforts, they couldn’t handle the young man, which filled them with dread.
“Buzz”
Suddenly, a terrifying wave of energy surged towards Little One and the Nine-Headed Lion. Runes filled the sky, like a volcano erupting, disturbing the heavens and dazzling.
“This is bad!” Little One shouted. The energy fluctuation was too terrifying, beyond what he could endure.
He quickly withdrew the golden bone scissors to counteract the wave; otherwise, he might end up regretting it. The incoming force was incredibly frightening, far surpassing the combined strength of many geniuses.
“Roar!” The Nine-Headed Lion also roared, its golden fur standing on end, feeling as though it was being targeted by a primordial beast ready to devour it.
It had no choice but to spit out a string of golden prayer beads for defense against the divine might, or else it would be turned into flesh paste along with Little One.
“This is bad.”
Little One’s body trembled, his hair standing on end. He turned abruptly, noticing another terrifying wave coming from another direction, surging toward them with boundless runes.
The pressure was immense, and if they faced it head-on, they would likely be crushed into pulp.
“Damn it, how many experts are there?!” The Nine-Headed Lion roared in terror, feeling as if it had fallen into the gates of hell.
From the east, west, south, and north, figures emerged, blocking all directions. They attacked simultaneously, surrounding the area and cutting off the retreat for Little One and the Nine-Headed Lion.
The four figures exerted their strength, each with waves appearing in front of them, pushing forward like four oceans bursting their banks. These were waves created by runes, crushing toward Little One.
“How can they be so powerful?” Little One’s pupils contracted, sensing a grave situation.
He activated two of his treasures, exerting all his strength to resist. The golden bone scissors vibrated, like two entwined flood dragons, emitting a hazy killing light against the person in the east. The white mirror shone, emitting large bolts of lightning and deafening thunder toward the person in the north.
The Nine-Headed Lion also bared its teeth, feeling the danger. It roared to the sky, spewing out nine golden fangs towards the person in the west, while the string of crystalline beads was used to suppress the person in the south.
Fortunately, they had four treasures, each of significant origin, relics of ancient primordial species.
Without these four original rune treasures, Little One and the Nine-Headed Lion would likely have been crushed into blood and mud by the four experts’ powerful runes, unable to fight back.
“This doesn’t make sense. How can four such powerful geniuses appear all at once? It’s unrealistic,” the Nine-Headed Lion growled.
If such a level was reached in youth, it would have been known across the world, and suddenly encountering four at once, working together, seemed rather illusory.
“Who are you?” Little One demanded.
By the lakeside, the Rain Tribe’s geniuses were elated, knowing that the figures hidden on the mountain peaks had made their move. The situation was set; no matter how strong the boy was, he couldn’t withstand this.
“Buzz”
The figure from the east did not speak but took action, extending a massive hand emitting boundless light. With a thunderous sound, his palm transformed into a great river, crashing toward them.
The Nine-Headed Lion’s fur bristled. This was pure water power, a single palm transforming into a divine river, not something an ordinary young genius could achieve.
Little One’s eyes widened in shock as he saw the wrinkles on the hand before it turned into a rune. Such wrinkles certainly didn’t belong to a young person.
“How is this possible? There are restrictions in Hundred Breaks Mountain. Those of too old an age cannot enter. How did you get in?” he shouted, wielding the mirror to counter with thunderous divine light.
“So that’s it. They are the Sealers,” the Golden Lion roared, revealing worry in its eyes. These weren’t just youths, but four venerable experts.
“Sealers?” Little One was astonished.
The Nine-Headed Lion explained, “Hundred Breaks Mountain contains great opportunities. Each time it opens, a few individuals at great cost seal themselves, drastically reducing their strength while replenishing their essence to maintain a youthful state. Even so, entering still incurs a great cost, and if this small world detects them, they will face disaster.”
Hundred Breaks Mountain, though named a mountain, is actually a small world. After ancient saints shed tears and bled here, it gained exclusivity. It protects itself to prevent overly destructive individuals from entering.
Over the years, it has been concluded that the degree of repulsion correlates with age and cultivation.
Yet, despite this, every time Hundred Breaks Mountain opens, some aged individuals still find ways to sneak in for the grand opportunities, seeking sacred medicines, celestial bones, and ancient saints’ legacies.
However, the cost is enormous. If discovered in this small world, they will undoubtedly suffer a tragic end, turning into calamity ashes.
Throughout history, only a few have managed to sneak through and leave safely, with more than ninety percent of the aged entrants perishing.
This time, the Rain Tribe mobilized four aged experts to search for a treasure of immense importance to them. These were the super elites of the tribe.
This was an enormous risk. They couldn’t use more than their allotted power here, or they would be detected and the four would surely die.
Little One remembered the cloaked figures around the Fire Nation princess, who all concealed their true identities. It dawned on him that they were likely also Sealers. Otherwise, how could they have succeeded in finding the treasure egg within the divine cave if they were not extremely powerful and had expended all their strength?
“We’ll fight to the end. Although they are strong, they are restricted and dare not unleash their full power. They can only suppress us to a critical point,” the Nine-Headed Lion said.
“I’m with you,” Little One shouted, adopting a desperate stance against the four powerful figures. His runes erupted, and both of his treasures shone brightly.
Indeed, the Nine-Headed Lion did the same. It abandoned Little One, almost standing upright, and summoned its treasure, fighting desperately against the four.
The area was instantly engulfed in intense light. The great lake boiled, steam rising and gathering around the four powerful figures, which they harnessed, intensifying the runes.
Little One charged forward with a determination to go down in flames, heading towards the eastern side. Seeing this, the Nine-Headed Lion roared, equally resolute, “Better to be shattered jade than to survive as broken pottery!” It advanced alongside.
The four powerful figures were startled. The person and the mount unleashed their strongest divine techniques, reviving their treasures, emitting an aura that made even the four experts’ hearts race. They had to concentrate and prepare for battle.
In their eyes, the person and the mount were clearly prepared to fight to the death. The four experts had to go all out and be ready to capture them.
However, as the dazzling light burst forth from the person and the mount, they suddenly soared into the sky, changing direction. Each was lifted by a treasure, shooting upwards at an extreme speed.
Little One, riding the mirror, ascended into the sky. Noting that the Nine-Headed Lion did the same, he said, “Little brother, you’re so ungrateful, trying to escape while leaving me behind.”
“Pah! Aren’t you running too?” The Nine-Headed Lion shot him a sideways glance. It was clear it wasn’t in the mood for a final stand and turned its back on Little One, saying, “Farewell, no, never see you again in this lifetime.”
It stepped onto a string of crystalline beads and quickly vanished.
The four powerful figures were furious. They had sealed off all directions but couldn’t entirely cover the sky. The person and the mount used their treasures to escape into the high sky. The four stepped onto beast skins or summoned their divine bones and pursued.
Little One scratched his head and said no more. He followed the Nine-Headed Lion’s rear, slightly accelerating and eventually surpassing it, running in front.
“Ah!” The Nine-Headed Lion was stunned. Its fur bristled as it looked back and saw the four old experts relentlessly chasing after them, becoming the rear guard against Little One.
“Big brother, have mercy! We can’t do this. They’re targeting you; don’t drag me down with you,” the Nine-Headed Lion pleaded, nearly in tears.
“Little brother, share the good times and the bad. We’re brothers; let’s face it together,” Little One said firmly, showing a tough demeanor.
“Then don’t run ahead of me. Now I’m eating your dust. Clearly, I’m the meat shield, and those old guys’ divine techniques are about to hit me,” the Nine-Headed Lion lamented.
Little One and the Nine-Headed Lion were still too young to contend with the four powerful figures, and they were hunted with no escape in sight.
As they fled, they fought all the way, spilling blood and suffering severe injuries.
“Roar!”
The Nine-Headed Lion roared in anger, its right chest hit by a rainstorm. It was almost like a sieve, transparent from front to back, staining its golden fur with blood.
It wobbled in the sky, looking tragic, and even the treasure beneath it dimmed, on the verge of falling.
Their escape was fraught with bloodshed and prolonged battles. It was already remarkable that they had lasted this long.
Little One was also injured, struck by a torrential downpour. The storm’s destructive divine power hammered him, causing him to cough up blood.
If not for his body being as strong as a Celestial-grade ancient beast cub, this blow would have shattered his bones and turned him into mush.
“Roar!” The Nine-Headed Lion roared, cornered, covered in blood, its golden mane soaked and turned dark red.
“Go!” Little One commanded, blocking the four powerful figures and cutting off their path.
The Nine-Headed Lion was stunned, not expecting Little One to give it a chance to survive at this crucial moment. Little One’s actions had overturned its perception of him.
“Why aren’t you escaping?” the Nine-Headed Lion asked.
“They are targeting me. Hurry and leave,” Little One urged, glowing with light as he pressed it to flee immediately.
The Nine-Headed Lion’s expression was complex. This human youth’s behavior was different from before. Even when not jesting, he showed a side it hadn’t seen.
“Fine, I’ll go. If you survive, I won’t let Lord Nine Spirits trouble you, and the previous grudges will be erased,” the Nine-Headed Lion growled, nodding.
“You disappointed me, Little Brother. You’ve always harbored resentment,” Little One said angrily.
The Nine-Headed Lion seemed to feel guilty, as Little One had blocked the four experts and given it a chance to escape. It stopped at a distance and said, “Let’s talk when you survive.”
“Alright, and when that happens, treat me to some braised lion head,” Little One laughed heartily.
“Get lost!” The Nine-Headed Lion roared in fury, turning abruptly, its body glowing with golden light, disappearing into the horizon in an instant.
Little One spat out a mouthful of blood, his smile fading as he turned coldly to the four powerful figures. Clenching his fists, he said, “Be careful of divine retribution. Such a commotion will surely alert this small world.”
“Capturing you won’t expose us,” one of them said with a cold smile, responding mercilessly.
“Hmm, look at him. When his eyebrows rise, he really resembles someone,” an elder spoke up, trying to suppress his excitement. His chest was heaving with emotion.
The other three were startled, all staring at Little One.
At this point, the four stopped hiding their true forms, dispelling the mist to reveal their real selves—two middle-aged men and two elders, their eyes exceptionally bright like golden lanterns.
One of the middle-aged men gasped in shock, “Could it really be that child from back then?” He stared incredulously at Little One, seeing a resemblance to the enraged Shi Ziling from years ago.
“Didn’t you notice? His physical strength is almost unreal, even weaker than Yi from a few years ago. It’s astonishing,” an elder’s eyes flickered.
“Could it be that you really are that little wretch from back then?” one of the Rain Tribe elders asked grimly.
They didn’t feel remorse for the past and made no apologies. They only sought to eliminate any future threats. Their tone and demeanor now seemed even colder, more ruthless, and merciless.
Little One’s heart was ablaze with fury, wishing he could immediately kill the four. His hands clenched into fists, lightning crackling and enveloping him, threatening to drown out everything around.
“Why aren’t you speaking?” The others couldn’t see his true form and were unsure of his expression.
A middle-aged man spoke, “Back then, my great-uncle was in charge of that battle. He came from the imperial capital, leading many experts all the way to the Western Frontier. He once shot through Shi Ziling’s lung with a bone arrow, but unfortunately, he missed the heart by just a fraction.”
His name was Yu Kun, a renowned figure among the Rain Tribe. At this moment, his eyes emitted streaks of divine light as he stared at Little One, trying to pierce through the lightning curtain and see his expression.
Go write Chapter 3. Today is the Double Ninth Festival; I wish everyone happiness. I will continue working hard and write another chapter.
