Chapter 154: The Medicine Field

Chapter 154: The Medicine Field

"Be gentle, or you'll crush it! Don't be so violent. I've said everything I need to—I’m just a stubborn rock that needs to be enlightened by the Spirit Flower to speak. In the past, I was ignorant and didn't know the origins of the Divine Garden."

The stone, as big as a human head, was gritting its teeth and howling, feeling extremely unsafe in the hands of this brutal child, fearing it would shatter at any moment.

"One flower, and it has such divine effects?" The little one was skeptical.

"Of course, it’s a holy medicine. It’s rare in the world, and each of these treasures has astonishing medicinal properties. It’s known as the Spirit Flower, and it can enlighten all ignorant, primitive life forms and give them intelligence. Since it’s said to be spiritual, it’s very beneficial for strong practitioners like you, helping you better comprehend the Great Dao and master valuable techniques."

The stone really had a mouth and eyes, and it moved, making crackling noises, with a worried expression, hoping the little one would spare it.

"Is that so? I didn’t expect the holy medicine to be so powerful. How many holy medicines are there in this spirit medicine garden?"

"How many? There might be one in a truly ancient divine mountain; those places are likely inhabited by ancient ferocious beasts like the Hungering, the Ferocious, and the Gluttonous. Ordinary people can't approach them at all. There’s no divine guardian here, so even having one holy medicine is already defying the heavens. Of course, I might not know everything—after all, the garden is vast. I’ve heard that there used to be two or three old holy medicines, but they haven’t appeared for many years and might have fled this small world."

The stone answered every question and could even add a lot of extra information, showing remarkable cooperation.

"From what you’re saying, this Spirit Flower must have entered the spirit medicine field later," the little one said with curiosity, feeling that the stone knew too much.

The stone replied, "It should be said to have been born later. I heard from that ancient tree that the holy medicine was originally just a rare treasure. Later, it fell into the Eternal Spring and absorbed a vast amount of essence, eventually breaking through and transforming into a Spirit Flower, becoming the most precious holy medicine."

The little one immediately widened his eyes and shook the stone vigorously, "Quickly tell me, where is the Eternal Spring?"

"Stop shaking, it’s going to break. The Eternal Spring is in the deepest part of the spirit medicine field. Go find it yourself; I’ve never seen it."

"Little stone, if you dare to deceive me, I’ll deal with you later." The little one weighed the stone, applying force, and found it was very hard despite its loud cries.

"Who’s spying on me?" The little one muttered quietly, then silently threw the stubborn stone away.

The result was two simultaneous cries of "Ah!" One was from the stone, and the other came from a powerful genius who was hit on the forehead, bleeding profusely.

"Did I provoke you? Why are you attacking me?" This was a strange creature with a bird’s head and a human body, with a pair of wings on its back, glowing purple all over. It was furious now, with a big bump on its forehead.

"So sturdy," the little one muttered, referring to the stone. It hit a powerful ancient beast, and it didn’t even crack.

However, the creature found this comment quite unpleasant, feeling it was being mocked, and immediately roared and rushed toward the source of the sound.

It came from the Feather Tribe. Although it was only a branch family, it had mutated and surpassed even the main lineage’s royalty in strength. Its purple wings spread like lightning as it attacked.

"I wasn’t talking about you; I was saying the stone is really hard." The little one explained.

"Less talk," the Feather Tribe warrior roared. The bird-headed being opened its mouth to unleash lightning but forgot that this was the Divine Garden, and nothing came out.

With a thunderous crash, it quickly adapted, using one wing to strike like a purple heavenly blade, cutting through the ground with a mighty gale.

"Clang."

The little one defensively blocked with his arms, "I didn’t do it on purpose."

The Feather Tribe warrior could hardly believe this, sneering continuously, "I’m hungry. If you’re sincere, come and make amends with your flesh."

"You’re forcing me. It’s a shame you’re a humanoid," the little one sighed.

A battle erupted. This time, he didn’t hold back, attacking relentlessly with his palms and fingers like wheels. After dozens of rounds, the sky was filled with purple feathers.

The Feather Tribe warrior screamed, its wings stripped bare, feathers all plucked, revealing its bare body, looking extremely miserable.

It turned and fled, fearing it would be completely de-feathered if this continued. It didn’t want to be eaten by a human child.

"I’ll spare you this time." The little one, angry, regretted not being able to continue.

The stone on the ground was secretly rolling, trying to escape, but the little one directly stepped on it, then picked it up, "I see you’re quite sturdy. Since I can’t use any treasures here, I’ll temporarily borrow you."

"Don’t!" The stubborn stone cried out in despair.

The Divine Garden was vast, filled with dazzling lights. At first, only scattered herbs could be seen, but as they went deeper into the medicine field, things changed.

"It smells so good."

Rich fragrances wafted in, with the front appearing like an ocean of spiritual energy, divine light swirling, and essence rolling, extremely bright and radiant, spreading its brilliance.

This was truly an ancient medicine field, with spiritual beings still growing. It was unknown how many years had passed; many ancient herbs had withered into mud, but seeds had sprouted and grown anew.

The spiritual energy surged like an ocean, shocking to behold. Even the Emperor’s medicine garden didn’t have so many precious herbs. The brilliant light burst forth, misting and enveloping the area.

"I feel so happy, like I’ve entered a mythical world."

The little one was astonished. There were so many spirit herbs, each only a few meters apart, interspersed with exotic grasses, filling the air with fragrance.

In the outside world, a single spirit mountain could only grow one spirit herb, but here there were so many. The medicine field was vast, with patches of ancient herbs, crystal-clear and dazzling, their medicinal aroma intoxicating.

The little one stepped forward, rushing ahead quickly.

However, as they approached, the field's divine energy surged more than tenfold, making him stiff, with his bones creaking under immense pressure.

Any ordinary strong person would likely explode here; the void seemed distorted, with a strange and terrifying mysterious power circulating.

"So strong, it’s preventing people from collecting herbs." The little one murmured, pressing on despite the immense pressure, which still didn’t trouble him.

Finally stepping into the medicine garden, he was completely entranced. Spiritual clouds surged towards him, making it feel like he was in a divine sea.

The spiritual energy was so dense it almost turned into liquid flowing around. The little one breathed deeply, absorbing the essence, his pores continuously shining with divine light, looking as if forged from divine metal.

"Mine, mine, all mine." The little one happily did a somersault. With so many spirit herbs, even eating one and discarding two would be enough.

Then, he grew worried. Although the medicine garden had herbs every few meters, the quantity was enormous. How could he take them all?

"If only the Universe Bag could be used." He sighed in frustration, feeling that not being able to take away so many spirit herbs would be like facing heavenly punishment.

"I’ll eat, I’ll eat, I’ll eat them all." The fierce child never wasted anything and directly pounced on a red orchid.

With a loud "boom," he was sent flying, his body shaking, and his bones cracking. If his body hadn’t been strong enough, that impact would have likely broken his bones and torn his muscles.

"What’s happening?" He was surprised, rubbing his arms and feeling a pang of pain.

"Please don’t bring me closer," the little stone cried out in distress.

Hearing this, the little one threw the stone over to the ancient herbs, causing ripples to spread out and sending it flying again.

"Ah, it’s broken, it’s broken! Help!" the stone wailed, though in fact, it still didn’t have any cracks.

"This is strange. The areas where the spirit herbs grow have exceptionally strong fields. There must be a mysterious protective formation guarding the medicine field to prevent people from harvesting," the little one murmured to himself.

He moved forward, this time being cautious, slowly extending his hands towards a red orchid.

An eerie force appeared, almost causing a riot, pushing his hand away. It was an extremely powerful strike, comparable to battles with white tigers or giant birds.

The little one, not believing in defeat, exerted all his effort and continued to dig, determined to extract the spirit herb.

Boom.

He succeeded in getting the herb, but it shattered. He was thrown backward by a massive shockwave of divine energy, blood surging, and a streak of blood appeared at the corner of his mouth.

"This field is so strong, this is outrageous," the little one fumed.

The only consolation was that the spirit herb hadn’t been too affected by the shock. Although it was shattered, it was still edible. He gathered the falling fragments with his sleeve and ate them immediately.

"To consume a spirit herb, one must pay a drop of blood. It’s really infuriating," the little one complained.

Next, he ate four more spirit herbs, resulting in two more instances of blood at the corner of his mouth. Though his body was robust and quickly recovered after refining the herbs, he was still quite angry.

Guarding such a large medicine garden, does one really have to bleed to harvest?

"Even so, I’m going to eat it," the fierce child never wasted anything, bleeding four times and consuming nine spirit herbs.

He continued forward, preparing to search for the most precious herbs. Looking at the garden full of spirit plants emitting various colors of light, the little one was deeply troubled. Why couldn’t he harvest everything?

Suddenly, a strong smell of blood hit him. He became alert and saw a corpse among the herbs.

"It’s him." It was the Feather Tribe warrior he had fought with not long ago. Now, only half of the body remained, eaten by other creatures.

"Only a short while, and he was devoured," he thought, feeling a pang of unease. This Feather Tribe warrior was definitely not weak, yet he had ended up as someone else’s meal, and raw at that.

Moving further, he encountered four more corpses. The blood had dried, indicating they had been dead for a day or two. When he saw the fifth corpse, he was startled—it was the powerful being from the Spirit Tribe, who had fought with him and had his forearm broken.

"He’s dead too, even though he was clearly very strong," the little one frowned.

These deaths didn’t make him stop, but made him more cautious. He moved step by step deeper into the medicine garden, convinced that a terrifying monster awaited ahead.

"Don’t go any further, you’re about to encounter a pure-blooded being," the stone warned with a mournful face.

After traveling a bit further, the little one’s eyes lit up. Ahead, he saw several beings—about seven or eight—harvesting herbs, coughing up blood continuously.

There were also a dozen or so corpses on the ground, clearly unable to withstand the field and having died.

"Come here, hurry and harvest the herbs," a loud roar came, scolding the little one.

It was a humanoid creature covered in golden fur a foot long, dazzlingly bright, with a pair of golden dragon-like horns on its head, flashing with divine light.

"Golden Beast," the little one was astonished. According to legend, such creatures could only be found in ancient divine mountains, serving as servants to pure-blooded ferocious beasts.

Although a servant, they were far stronger than ordinary ferocious beasts, almost at the level of semi-divine beasts. The ancient divine birds or ferocious beasts had bestowed them with formidable bloodlines, granting them boundless powers.

This Golden Beast was as powerful as rumored, glowing like a golden sun, its presence overwhelming and fearsome, making one shiver just by standing there.

The little one showed a curious light and asked, "Are you all working together to harvest herbs?"

"We are harvesting for my master. Hurry up," the Golden Beast's eyes were like golden lanterns, and it roared at him.

"What? All for one person? Then I can rest assured. Hand over the herbs," the little one extended his hand, asking the Golden Beast for the spirit herbs.

"What did you say?" It immediately roared, shaking the heavens and the earth.

At the same time, another cold voice echoed, "Who dares to take my spirit herbs?"

The voice was soft, yet it pierced the ears with intense pain, indicating that this was a terrifyingly powerful being.

"It’s me," the little one replied.

He looked towards the depths of the medicine field, where golden divine light was spreading, like golden waves reaching the sky, enveloped in auspicious energy.

"The Eternal Spring," the little one was astonished.

There was a spring pool, about ten feet square, emitting golden ripples, dazzling and brilliant, with fiery radiance that seemed to drown the world. Several beings were gathered around, trying to approach to obtain the divine spring’s liquid.

Next, he would write Chapter Three. Thanks for your support.
