Chapter 158: Returning with Full Loads

Chapter 158: Returning with Full Loads

The dragon’s tail flailed wildly, attempting to escape, emitting thousands of golden rays of light. It was dazzling, like a small sun, so intense it was almost blinding.

The little one, flustered, finally managed to cover it up. However, the dragon’s tail split apart, transforming into five small dragons, each no larger than a fingertip, and began to flee in different directions.

“Don’t you dare run!” the mischievous child roared, stuffing them all into his mouth and puffing out his cheeks as a threat. “If you try to escape again, I’ll eat you all!”

Golden liquid churned as the little one’s cheeks puffed out and then deflated. It looked as though he was making funny faces, but in reality, the five small dragons were struggling desperately to break free.

“There really is the Fountain of Youth. I thought it had dried up long ago. Who would have thought there are still some left? You’ve captured five drops of it,” the stubborn stone said in astonishment.

“Is there any way to seal them?” the little one asked, muffled through his covered mouth.

“If you seal them in a jade jar, they won’t be able to escape.”

The little one quickly fished out a small jade bottle from his bosom, placed the five small dragons inside, and then sealed the bottle tightly.

Then, he looked at the stubborn stone with suspicion. This guy seemed to know too much, and he must have stolen quite a bit of the Fountain of Youth while guarding the divine garden.

“Have you already become spiritually enlightened, with a large amount of golden liquid in your body?”

“No, don’t get any ideas,” the stubborn stone said, startled, and quickly rolled away, keeping a wary eye on him.

The little one didn’t ask more, as time was pressing. He wanted to catch that golden dragon; if he was too late, the other creatures would most likely have divided it among themselves.

“There’s no need to go after it. You definitely won’t catch it. Even those people will be empty-handed. The Fountain of Youth has successfully transformed, and now that it’s awakened, it can fly and vanish, so it’s impossible to catch it,” the stubborn stone shook his head.

Once such a divine liquid transforms, it will be full of divine nature and unmatched. Given time, it can quickly become powerful and turn into a sacrificial spirit. In the distant future, it might even become a deity.

In the divine garden, there are specific areas, but the Fountain of Youth is unaffected. The golden liquid has transformed into a dragon and can instantly disappear into the depths of the earth.

“Crunch, crunch”

The divine stone began to furiously devour the sand. After finishing the surface layer, it swallowed what was beneath. The place was filled with golden mist, rising in waves like golden tides, all thanks to the fountain.

Although the golden dragon had escaped, the strong divine radiance still pervaded the area. The sand and mud, nourished by the spring’s endless years, had already developed a spiritual essence.

“Don’t take more. You already have golden liquid. These are too much for you to consume,” the stubborn stone shouted.

“I need to take some back to the village chief for treatment and to save another sacrificial spirit,” the little one said, as he used a pile of beastskin bags to gather the sand, piling it up beside the pool.

The stubborn stone competed with him, and they both were equally matched, thoroughly consuming the divine pool. Not only that, they dug three feet deep into the ground, and then some.

In the end, it was more than three feet, even exceeding three meters, overturning all the soil. The golden radiance was completely gone, as the golden soil had been looted by the two gluttons, leaving the place as ordinary land.

“I’m stuffed. I’m so full,” the stubborn stone burped, glowing with a faint golden sheen, looking much more pleasing to the eye than before.

The little one stared at it with wide eyes, feeling for the first time that he had met a real rival. This guy was too strong. How could he digest half a pool of sand and still be unaffected, becoming even more extraordinary?

“You’ve digested it all?” the little one asked. The pile of golden sand was much larger than the stone, yet it had all been swallowed.

“How could I digest it all at once? I just stored the golden sand and will slowly refine it later. These are all treasures,” the stubborn stone said.

“It’s not as tasty as before, right?” the little one asked casually.

“Nonsense. Old wine tastes better, and aged divine sand is also more delicious. After being soaked in the Fountain of Youth for so long, it tastes even better,” the stubborn stone said, savoring it, and then quickly realized and fell silent.

The little one immediately pounced, grabbing it and saying, “You’re definitely up to something. Tell me, did you drink up all the divine spring?”

“It hurts so much. Let go, or I’ll break,” the stubborn stone cried out like a pig being slaughtered.

Strangely, after the golden liquid disappeared, the area’s divine aura weakened, as if it had retreated with the golden dragon.

“You clearly said you had eaten the golden sand here before,” the little one punched it harder with each blow.

“Stop hitting. I’ll confess everything,” the stubborn stone howled.

It had indeed eaten the divine sand more than once but was later expelled by the area’s rules and found it difficult to approach the divine pool. It wasn’t until the Fountain of Youth dried up that it had another chance to come close.

“The golden liquid couldn’t have all been eaten by you, right?” the little one asked with a grim expression, staring at it.

“I can only eat stones. The liquid has to flow out after being swallowed,” the stubborn stone said dejectedly, guarding a treasure mountain with nothing to show for it.

“But you’ve still gained a lot. How much divine sand did you eat?” the little one asked.

“Two hundred pounds the first time, and I was chased away. Even less the second time. The third time, as soon as I entered, I was thrown out,” the stubborn stone said indignantly.

According to it, the fourth time was when it truly enjoyed itself and was thoroughly satisfied.

It was now indeed different, glowing with a faint golden sheen, much more lustrous. As the little one put it, it looked much better, somewhat like jade.

“Why has the Fountain of Youth decreased so much?” the little one asked in confusion.

“It developed intelligence, underwent transformation, and turned into a dragon-shaped being. Do you think it didn’t come at a cost? It was almost exhausted, and the transformation almost failed,” the stubborn stone explained.

“It’s really a pity. We probably won’t see the Fountain of Youth again in the future,” the little one said gloomily.

“Not necessarily. It has become a spirit and successfully transformed. In the future, when it becomes stronger, it might still produce some golden liquid,” the stubborn stone said.

Knowing the full story, the little one was pleased. After all, he had obtained five drops of golden liquid, which were concentrated essences with surely remarkable effects.

“I’ll take one drop back for the village chief to treat his hidden ailment so his body won’t deteriorate further. I’ll give one drop to the goddess Liu, who might glean some rules and secrets from it. One drop each for Da Zhuang, Pi Hou, Er Meng, and the others to lay a foundation. But it’s really not enough,” the little one said, counting on his fingers, feeling it was too little and leaving him in a dilemma.

After a while, he came back to his senses and said, “Little stone, you dared to steal my divine sand!”

“No, I was just checking if these beastskin bags had any leaks,” the stubborn stone rolled aside.

“I remembered. What about the spiritual flower? Didn’t you say there was a holy medicine? Your spiritual enlightenment must be due to it. Could it be fake as well?”

“There was indeed such a flower, but it couldn’t enlighten me and was just competing for the sand. It was also driven away because it wanted to swallow the golden liquid,” the stubborn stone said unhappily.

“That’s a holy medicine! Where did it go?” the little one asked anxiously, his eyes wide.

“I had a fight with it. Bit it once, and it ran away. But I think it’s still near the spiritual herb garden,” the stubborn stone said.

“You bit it once? That’s a holy medicine. Where did you put that precious herb?” the little one demanded, grabbing it.

“The holy medicine is a precious thing. Of course, I wouldn’t waste it. That would be asking for divine retribution. I buried it underground and ate it once it turned into sand,” the stubborn stone said triumphantly.

“Clang”

The little one threw it to the ground and stomped on it. The stubborn stone yelped in pain, rolling on the ground and shouting, “Stop hitting me! Next time we encounter it, I’ll catch it for you.”

“You deserve divine retribution for this,” the little one said angrily and regretfully. It was a holy medicine, rare in the world. Not only had it been bitten, but it was also buried in the ground and consumed once it turned into sand. The worst part was the stubborn stone’s smugness.

“Let’s hurry up and leave. Otherwise, those pure-blooded beings who couldn’t catch the Fountain of Youth might come back and snatch these drops from you,” the stubborn stone changed the subject, urging him to leave.

The little one nodded. The pile of beastskin bags filled with sand was too conspicuous.

He carried eight bags, stacking three on the stubborn stone’s back and having it carry them, then quickly headed out of the divine garden. He had originally planned to get help from several ancient relics, but when he looked, they had already vanished.

The divine garden was filled with the smell of blood, and dozens of beings had died, all from different races, most of whom had recently fallen, likely killed by the pure-blooded beings.

“Finally out,” the little one sighed in relief. He then took out the universe bag, loosened the golden rope, and immediately, auspicious light burst forth as he stored all eleven bags of divine sand inside.

The palm-sized bag could swallow everything, and it was incredibly convenient and powerful.

“What are you up to now?” the stubborn stone asked, a bit nervous as the little one grabbed it and weighed it in his hand.

“I’m going to catch the offspring of ancient beasts and divine birds and then look for that holy medicine,” the little one said.

“You go ahead. Why are you grabbing me? Green mountains remain, and the waters flow long; we’ll meet again,” the stubborn stone said.

“I want you to make a name for yourself,” the little one said.

Upon re-entering the divine garden, the mischievous child was completely relaxed, having completed his mission and found the Fountain of Youth. Now he was searching around to see if he could find anything more valuable.

After half an hour, he unearthed eight spiritual herbs in the outer area, including their roots and soil, all intact.

“If we plant these back in Stone Village and sprinkle golden soil on them, they will definitely grow well. The whole village will be filled with spiritual energy,” the little one said happily, planning to create a pure land for his people.

He continued to search for spiritual herbs, eager to clear out the entire area.

Although there were many ancient herbs in the spiritual herb fields, the field’s aura was too strong. Even if he could dig them up, the plants would break.

During this time, he encountered several pure-blooded beings and even joined them in searching for the golden dragon. Despite a whole afternoon of efforts, they found nothing.

“Boom”

On the way, he fought fiercely with several beasts and tore off a piece of blood meat treasure.

“Clang”

“Ouch”

The purple-haired girl and the stubborn stone cried out together, clashing with the little one again. She was struck on her pristine white forehead, causing a large bump, and she was so angry that her divine body trembled.

In the end, the little one began to run, fleeing at full speed. He wanted to subdue the descendants of ancient beasts, but after several battles, the creatures couldn’t find the golden dragon and started to target him, pursuing him relentlessly.

“You guys are really unreasonable. How can you act like this?” the little one said angrily, being attacked by a group of powerful beings who were working together to take him down.

“Kill him!” the beasts roared. They had their flesh torn apart and were enraged by the talk of turning one piece into barbecue and another into soup.

The purple-haired girl, a peerless beauty, seemed like an otherworldly fairy. Yet, today she had endured three heavy blows, with three lumps on her forehead, and was extremely furious.

Usually, she was high above, surrounded by talented beings from various races, and even the offspring of gods wouldn’t dare to act recklessly. But today, a mischievous child had tormented her to this extent, which was intolerable.

What was most unforgivable was that she had been ambushed earlier. The child had jumped onto her back, clinging to her neck and wrestling with her, shouting about guarding some wretched village. It was absolutely unbearable.

As a prominent goddess, renowned and commanding, how had she fallen to the point of being tasked with guarding a shabby village?

Honestly, she looked quite disheveled. The child’s wrestling had been intense, leaving her hair disheveled, clothes in disarray, and the ground in chaos.

In close combat, the child had wrestled with her on the ground, which was simply outrageous and a disgraceful fighting method.

Bifang was also very angry. With a gloomy face, it growled about the human boy who kept talking about taking it to see the god tree. It considered itself far superior and had eaten true gods before. It slapped at the boy, not wanting to hear his chatter. But the irritating child had yanked out several of its most splendid feathers, claiming to take them back to a wretched village for a girl to use as shuttlecocks.

“Kill him!” a chimera dragon roared, transforming into a streak of light and pursuing the little one.

That detestable child kept nagging, trying to extract dragon blood, saying it would be used as a medicine guide and promising to treat it to dragon blood stew later.

In the end, the little one seized the chance and took two of its bloodied dragon scales while the beast was caught off guard.

The creatures chased him, and the little one, with a dark expression, reflected seriously. He concluded that these beings were too difficult to get along with and had terrible temperaments.
