The young man showed a look of astonishment. It was hard to believe that such a young child could actually deflect his iron arrows with just one hand.
To understand why, he had to remember that a mere swing of his arms could lift five or six large bronze cauldrons. The massive iron arrows he used could pierce through rock and split gold, a power that was beyond ordinary people's endurance and could even kill a dragon-headed elephant.
The villagers of Beicun were shocked. No one knew better than them how terrifying Beifeng was—an exceptionally gifted individual with astonishing divine power, extremely rare. How could he be defeated by a child?
"Seeking death," Beifeng spat out a cold rebuke. His eyes flashed with beams of light like two streaks of lightning. He exhaled, drew his bow, and started shooting arrows one after another.
“Whoosh,” “Whoosh”
The iron arrows sliced through the air with a howling sound, resembling the ghostly wails of the nine hells. The long, thick shafts of the arrows glinted with a chilling metallic shine as they flew at high speed, extremely frightening.
Beifeng continued to draw his bow, releasing eight iron arrows in quick succession. Each arrow was terrifyingly aimed directly at the child’s vital points.
Shihou, like a nimble ape, extended his limbs naturally and swiftly evaded five arrows. He then used both hands to strike and deflect the remaining three arrows, which deeply embedded into the rocks with a clanging sound.
This performance was astounding.
Even the villagers of Shicun were dumbfounded. Shihou’s display surpassed their expectations; despite his young age, he performed in a way that felt almost unreal.
Beifeng scolded lightly and crazily continued shooting. The iron arrows poured down like a torrential rain, raining down in a dense barrage. The thick, long arrows pierced through the forest.
Although Shihou was very small, his speed was incredible. Like a leaping tiger or a soaring dragon, he dodged the arrows while simultaneously using his hands to strike and clash with the shafts, making loud clangs as many arrows were deflected.
His agility did not resemble that of a child. In an instant, he covered dozens of meters, moving so quickly that he seemed like a young roc with extraordinary presence.
“Boom”
The chaotic rain of arrows became denser. The child let out a loud shout, kicking a massive stone weighing a thousand jin (Chinese weight unit) into the air, which then hurtled towards the cold-faced Beifeng.
“How could such strength come from a child under four years old?”
People were astonished, their eyes wide in disbelief. Only a few noticed that when Shihou used his immense strength, there was a flash of symbols that disappeared too quickly to see clearly.
The massive stone flew through the air and fell down.
Beifeng’s eyes turned cold as he stopped shooting. He swung his large bow, which was taller than a person, with great force towards the giant stone. With a loud crash, the massive stone shattered into pieces, scattering in all directions.
Meanwhile, Shihou seized the opportunity and rushed forward, angrily demanding, “Why are you so barbaric? You want to kill my Uncle A Fu and steal the game we rely on to survive.”
Beifeng snorted coldly, discarded the large bow, and picked up a dark red spear made of blood iron. Holding it in both hands, he thrust it fiercely towards the child’s chest.
At this moment, Shihou was in mid-air, heading straight towards Beifeng, making it difficult to evade. The people of Shicun watched with hearts in their mouths, deeply resenting Beifeng for his ruthless attack.
“Clang”
The metallic sound rang out. Shihou’s eyes were clear and bright as his right hand swung gracefully, emitting a soft glow. With a clang, he split the spear in two, while his tender little hand remained unscathed.
The result left everyone dumbfounded. Shihou, despite his young age, stood his ground against the powerful Beifeng, performing with remarkable dominance.
“Whoosh”
Beifeng suddenly hurled the broken spear towards the child’s right eye, decisively and fiercely. At such a close distance, it was extremely dangerous.
Shihou tilted his head to dodge, while still in mid-air, and kicked Beifeng’s face with his right leg, carrying a strong gust of wind. Despite his small size, his posture was quite graceful, and his movements were smooth and natural, like a swift swallow cutting through the air.
“Bang”
Beifeng blocked with his left arm, creating a dull thud that caused nearby trees to sway and leaves to fall in large quantities, like an autumn wind sweeping through.
“What immense power.”
The people of Beicun looked on in disbelief. They knew Beifeng’s divine power was extraordinary, even among those within a thousand-mile radius, and yet he could not gain the upper hand.
Shihou fell to the ground. Despite being much shorter than Beifeng and very young, he showed no fear. His small face was puffed up with anger, and his big eyes stared defiantly at Beifeng.
Both sides paused, captivated by the fierce duel between the powerful youth and the astonishing child, waiting to see who would prevail.
Beifeng’s face was cold and grim, his eyes flashing with cold light. At fourteen years old, he found it humiliating to be in a stalemate with someone who seemed not even four years old.
“Boom”
Beifeng, with his long and slender body, suddenly swung his leg like a steel post. The terrifying force roared like a giant beast crashing into something.
Shihou retreated. Having grown up in the mountains, he had never experienced real combat but had learned much. He evaded the onslaught and jumped back several meters.
However, Beifeng, who had hunted ferocious beasts, slaughtered exotic birds, and killed powerful foes, was rich in combat experience and knew how to maintain the initiative and gain the upper hand.
He leaped into the air several meters away, his right leg swinging down like an iron whip with unstoppable force. The gust of wind stung the face, and the attacks came in quick succession.
With ancient trees behind him and no room to retreat, Shihou was forced to back up against a giant tree, crossing his arms and bracing himself to block the attack. Several symbols flashed and vanished.
“Boom”
It was like two giant beasts colliding, sending dust and stones flying, with the dust rising to the sky and leaves falling. The tremendous impact from Beifeng’s kick shattered the giant tree behind Shihou, which had a diameter of over a meter.
With a loud crash, the towering ancient tree broke and fell onto the mountainside, making an astonishing noise.
The people of Beicun saw clearly that Shihou’s palm seemed to have symbols flashing, indicating that this power was resisting Beifeng’s thousands of jin of giant force.
“It’s a treasure. The child is holding a rare treasure,” they shouted.
No matter what, they refused to believe that Shihou had discovered a powerful bone secret, and thought it was the string of beast teeth on his wrist that had played a role, as it indeed shimmered with a crystal light.
The people of Beicun were red-eyed with jealousy. Although it wasn’t a clan treasure, it was still a remarkable artifact. Enhancing a child’s power in such a way was certainly extraordinary.
After breaking the giant tree, Beifeng’s fierce momentum remained unchanged, and his attacks became even more ferocious. His legs swept like iron posts, causing trees and branches to continuously shatter and scatter.
Shihou, unwilling to be outdone, began to fight back. Despite his small size, each leap brought him several meters high, attacking like a young roc spreading its wings.
“Boom”
Beifeng’s fist wind roared like thunder. He struck a heavy stone weighing several thousand jin, shattering it into pieces and sending chunks of rock flying in all directions.
The scene was incredibly shocking. A mere teenage boy had such terrifying strength, causing the onlooking adults to gasp in awe.
The child, though still small, possessed astonishing divine power for his age. However, his absolute strength could not match Beifeng's, though the mysterious power of the bone artifact made him fearless.
With lightning-fast movements, the two combatants clashed. Each strike was terrifying, with the sound of fists like thunder, shaking trees and causing rocks to crack.
After several dozen exchanges, Beifeng's expression grew grim. Despite being a prodigy, he had not expected to be outmatched by a child under four years old, which was an unbearable blow to his pride.
“Boom”
This time, after a full-force attack, Beifeng suddenly bent down and lowered his head. A volley of crossbow bolts shot out from his back, gleaming coldly as they rushed directly at the child's eyes and face.
Everyone in Shicun gasped in surprise. The attack had been so sudden. Anger quickly followed, as Beifeng's ruthlessness towards a mere child was seen as extreme and vicious.
The child was startled but showed no fear. His hands moved, and patterns of light appeared at his fingertips, forming a small crescent moon which he held in his palm. With a powerful swing, the crescent's brilliance spread, shattering all the crossbow bolts.
The people of Shicun breathed a sigh of relief, having been scared out of their wits just moments ago.
“This kid is too vicious. He will definitely be a menace when he grows up,” Shih Feijiao said angrily.
Beifeng, seething with resentment, found that his attack had failed. He leaped six or seven meters into the air, towering above the child, his descent unstoppable.
“Whoosh”
Shihou’s large, clear eyes focused upward. He charged proactively, arms extended like an eagle soaring through the sky. His movements were powerful and fierce, reminiscent of a green-scaled eagle piercing through the clouds.
“Boom”
The crescent moon in his palm shone again, transforming into a bright beam that surged forth to meet Beifeng. The collision unleashed a powerful storm.
“Pfft”
This time, Beifeng spat out blood, his body flying sideways, breaking branches of many large trees, and crashing to the ground. Meanwhile, the child immediately pressed his advantage:
