Chapter 20: A Sudden Change

Chapter 20: A Sudden Change

This was a golden beast's leg, radiant and powerful, resembling a divine beast. Even in death, it exuded a terrifying majesty, flowing with a golden light that evoked awe.

At that moment, not just hundreds of ferocious beasts and dozens of fierce birds, but even the silver fierce crocodiles, blood weasels, and purple-gold giant worms of different kinds were instinctively retreating, intimidated by the sheer ferocity.

Ultimately, the Blue-scaled Hawk was the first to approach, followed by a few other beasts, including one resembling a fiery unicorn and another somewhat like a hound. They were all dominators of the outer regions, but apart from the Blue-scaled Hawk, the others did not belong to this area.

With a thunderous boom, the Blue-scaled Hawk spread its massive wings, shaking away many rocks and sending sand and stones flying, exposing most of the divine body of the Suan Ni.

The other fierce beasts also moved forward in unison, and soon, rocks were scattered everywhere, causing the other beasts and fierce birds to retreat in alarm.

A brilliant golden divine light emanated from the scene, revealing a colossal creature resembling a divine lion. It had golden dragon horns on its head, its forehead covered in golden scales, its whole body shining brightly, with fur that glistened more than golden silk.

This was the Suan Ni, a true ancient relic. Though its noble lineage had become impure and it was no longer as formidable as its ancient ancestors, it still reigned supreme in the depths of the mountains.

Its body was not exceedingly large, measuring about six meters in length. However, the strength of a fierce beast is not judged by its size, and this Suan Ni was the perfect proof of that.

Its body seemed to be made of gold; even in death, its might remained. The ferocity pervaded the entire mountainous region, bathing everything in golden light, turning even the leaves into a pale gold.

The old Suan Ni was a formidable and terrifying creature.

“Roar!”

The Blue-scaled Hawk, the Leopard Hound, the Fiery Cloud Unicorn, and other fierce beasts and birds immediately sprang into action, confirming the Suan Ni's precious body and fiercely competing for it.

“Clang!”

The Leopard Hound let out a long howl, shooting a silver arrow of light from its back, which streaked through the air like lightning. The beast's body also bore primitive runes.

“Puff!”

Another giant beast screamed in agony as the arrow pierced its chest, shining through from front to back, revealing its bleeding heart.

The Blue-scaled Hawk had already soared into the sky, attacking frenziedly below. The cyan moonlight emitted an eerie glow, sweeping through mountains and forests, slicing one fierce beast in half.

It launched indiscriminate attacks, aiming to kill the strongest few first, making the remaining hundreds of beasts and birds no threat, no matter how many there were.

The place instantly turned bloody. Some giant beasts began to charge recklessly, tearing at the Suan Ni, trying to consume its blood-rich flesh.

Several fierce beast overlords roared, and the Blue-scaled Hawk was no exception. It attacked to stop them, and chaos ensued.

“Squeak!”

Suddenly, a piercing shriek rang out, causing one's soul to ache. A purple rat, the size of a millstone, leaped and landed on the Blue-scaled Hawk's back.

“Be careful, Auntie Blue-scaled Hawk!” Xiao Budian shouted in alarm.

To the purple rat, the Blue-scaled Hawk was the greatest threat, and it aimed to eliminate it first. It suddenly sprang thirty meters high, a sight to behold.

Its size was relatively small compared to the Blue-scaled Hawk, but its attack was incredibly fierce. With one swipe, it tore off several pounds of flesh from the Blue-scaled Hawk, breaking through the blue scales.

Xiao Budian scolded lightly and attacked with full force, the silver moonlight spinning and chasing after the purple rat.

The Blue-scaled Hawk, though enraged, did not lose its composure. It knew that a rat king feared by all beasts was lurking in the distant mountains, feeding on metal, with teeth and claws that were indestructible.

The Blue-scaled Hawk's entire body glowed, runes intertwining like lightning spreading across its form, momentarily imprisoning the rat, trying to crush it with the primitive treasure talisman.

Shi Hao also moved, using the silver moonlight to strike the immobilized rat king, but with a loud “clang,” he could not break through. Xiao Budian widened his eyes in surprise and cried, “Again!”

“Clang, Clang!”

Sparks flew as the silver moonlight continued to slash. Finally, the rat king's fur was cut open, blood splattering, but its bones remained as hard as treasures, difficult to cut through.

Xiao Budian did not stop. After the first silver moonlight dimmed, he summoned a second round and struck fiercely. Eventually, with a crack, the rat king's bones broke partially, suffering severe damage.

“Boom!”

At the same time, the runes woven by the Blue-scaled Hawk exerted their power, causing the rat king to be covered in terrible bloodstains, gravely wounded and falling among the rocks.

At this moment, a fierce bird overlord was also killed. No one could threaten the Blue-scaled Hawk anymore, which quickly ascended, waiting for the chaos below to subside before taking action.

In fact, not only the Blue-scaled Hawk but also the other overlords chose to retreat after a fierce battle, unwilling to let others gain an advantage, leading to a standoff.

Suddenly, the Blue-scaled Hawk's scales flared and then quickly tightened, as if encountering immense terror. It dived sharply, skimming the mountains and forests, fleeing at high speed.

At this moment, Xiao Budian felt a chilling cold on his back, as if falling into an ice cellar. This feeling gradually dissipated as the Blue-scaled Hawk flew at high speed.

“What is that?” Xiao Budian had never felt such a deep sense of dread. Just now, he felt as if his breathing was about to stop, his face turning pale.

The Blue-scaled Hawk flew far away before soaring into the sky, diving into the clouds and hiding its form, observing the mountainous region below.

Xiao Budian harnessed the mysterious power of the bone script, his eyes gleaming brightly, lying on the Blue-scaled Hawk's back and also looking down.

“Roar!”

A thunderous beast's roar erupted, shaking the mountains and valleys, causing leaves to fall like rain. The entire world suddenly grew cold, a terrifying aura spreading like a flood.

In an instant, the mountains and forests went from tumultuous to stillness, fierce birds and beasts instantly fell silent, trembling in fear, not daring to roar. Even the blood weasels, purple-gold snakes, and fiery cloud unicorns dared not move.

A black figure appeared, like a conquering demon king descending, emanating an overwhelming ferocity that rendered the mountains and valleys eerily silent.

This was a fierce ape, not very large, standing over two meters high, covered in half-foot-long black fur, shining and intimidating. Surprisingly, it also had a pair of black, fleshy wings, capable of flight. It had descended from the sky moments ago. Additionally, it had a pair of black, menacing horns on its head.

“Is that a Demon Ape, and a king with extremely noble bloodline at that? Otherwise, it wouldn’t have wings to fly,” Xiao Budian said in astonishment, his mouth agape.

The Demon Ape was so powerful that its mere appearance intimidated all the beasts. Its cold gaze swept across, and none dared to resist. Moreover, black mist swirled around it, exuding a grim aura, as if it had slaughtered thousands of powerful beings.

“This is the ruler of this part of the mountains, likely comparable to the Suan Ni.”

With a whoosh, the Demon Ape leaped a hundred meters into the air with a powerful push of its legs, then dived down onto the huge head of an eagle bear.

The eagle bear, ten meters long, was a rare fierce beast with a human-like body and a pair of eagle wings, capable of soaring into the sky. It was powerful but now trembled in fear, too terrified to move, lying prone.

The Demon Ape took its time, sitting on its head, extending a claw to pry open its massive skull with a loud crack. It then casually feasted on its meal, indifferent to its plight.

The eagle bear emitted a mournful cry but did not dare to move until death, paralyzed by the overwhelming ferocity.

All the fierce birds and beasts trembled with fear. Here was a beast king that was nearly as powerful as the Suan Ni, emerging from deep within the mountains—how could it not terrify them?

“Bang!”

The Demon Ape had only taken a few bites before it leaped up, landing right in front of the Suan Ni. Behind it, the ten-meter-long beast, the Eagle Bear, crashed to the ground.

The Demon Ape, not particularly large, stomped its foot suddenly, causing rocks to fly and the mountain to collapse, the ground splitting open. The stone piles near the Suan Ni were instantly cleared.

“Moo!”

Suddenly, a bellowing roar of a wild bull echoed through the mountains. A terrifying firelight surged from the distant forest—a giant red bull, standing over ten meters tall and thirty meters long, with hooves blazing with flames.

Its entire body was bathed in fire, its fur shimmering with a red glow like silk.

“Is this the Fire Bull Demon the clan elder mentioned?” Xiao Budian’s eyes widened in shock.

The clan elder, Shi Yunfeng, was now very old, but when Xiao Budian was very young, he had heard the elders speak of a fire bull deep within the mountains, a mighty creature that had once ruled the wilderness and was now still alive.

With a whoosh, the Demon Ape spread its wings and soared into the sky to confront the Fire Bull Demon. The two creatures faced off, their overwhelming ferocity creating a tempest that ravaged the entire forest.

“Roar!”

“Moo!”

With a deafening roar, they charged at each other, engaging in a fierce battle. The mountain shook and the earth quaked, ancient trees splintered, and massive rocks flew through the air.

Suddenly, a surge of golden light exploded, spreading across the forest. The entire forest was bathed in a brilliant glow, with trees and rocks taking on a pale gold hue. No one expected the Suan Ni to leap up, its ferocity unparalleled.

“Roar!”

Like thunder from the heavens, it shook the mountains, moving like a streak of golden lightning, attacking the two beast kings.

“Puff!”

The attack was too fast and too sudden to defend against. Despite the Demon Ape’s quick reaction, one of its arms was torn off, blood spraying up to dozens of feet high.

“Crack!”

At the same time, the Fire Bull Demon, wreathed in flames, had one of its enormous horns, several meters long, along with a large portion of flesh, broken off by the Suan Ni’s swipe, falling to the ground.

This scene stunned all the fierce beasts and birds. They all fell to the ground in shock, trembling uncontrollably.

A howl rang out, calling all brothers and sisters to cast some recommendation votes. The new book is climbing the charts, and we need everyone’s support to lift it up. Thank you!
