Under the night sky, the beast was covered in golden runes, its fur shimmering with a lustrous sheen. Its eyes were fierce and its entire body radiated a precious glow, yet at this moment, it was filled with terror.
The tender shoots, dripping with fresh green, stretched closer, causing it to let out a shriek of fear. Its eyes were filled with dread as it spread its wings and, amidst a flurry of lightning, soared into the sky, trying to escape.
Even with its immense power, the beast had no intention of fighting back; it merely wanted to flee quickly. Its entire body bristled with fear, like a dog that had lost its home.
As the beast broke through the sky and was about to disappear into the night, the willow branches emitted a soft glow. Like a divine chain of order, they surged upward and quickly caught up.
"Awwooo!"
The beast let out a terrified cry, its fur standing on end. It flapped its wings desperately, the golden runes interlacing, its speed reaching its peak, but it was all in vain.
The soft willow branches glowed with colors, mist swirling around. With a "puff," the tip of the green shoot pierced through the beast's back, splattering a spray of blood.
"Uuuu!"
The beast struggled, its eyes filled with terror, letting out a heart-wrenching howl that echoed through the mountains and valleys.
The people of Stone Village watched in stunned silence. They knew the old willow tree was mysterious and different from ordinary spiritual entities, but they had not anticipated such a shocking display.
In just one exchange, the powerful spirit of the Beast Village was pierced through, showing no sign of resistance. The difference was beyond imagination.
What exactly was the willow tree's origin that made people wonder? The village chief, Shi Yunfeng, felt a shiver. He had once witnessed the terrifying scene of the old willow tree bathing in lightning and descending from the heavens.
The green willow branches trembled lightly, the radiant glow of the dawn intensified. The Beast Village's spirit cried out in agony as its body rapidly shriveled, then shattered into pieces. Its fur and bones aged and cracked like rotting wood, falling from the night sky.
A small drop of golden liquid condensed and fell onto the tender shoot, which absorbed it. The green light flowed, full of vitality, and the willow branches retreated, returning to the village.
A night breeze blew over, and on the blackened thunder-struck wood, a single willow branch emitted a soft light, enveloping the entire Stone Village in a gentle, harmonious glow, like a painted scroll.
The people of Stone Village were left speechless for a long time, unable to find words. The old willow tree had, for the first time, demonstrated its terrifying offensive power. Even though it was just a single tender branch, it had still killed the beast.
In the past, it had always emitted a peaceful aura at night, guarding the village, and had never actively attacked anyone. Today was an exception.
"Is the beast dead just like that?"
Many felt a sense of unreality. They had fought hard against the beast, narrowly escaping death, only for the spirit of the Beast Village to be directly pierced by a green willow branch.
The contrast was stark and the outcome was completely different from what they had imagined.
"Return to the village."
The group, both shocked and delighted, quickly returned, carrying the precious lion's body and the fiery red treasure horn, marching towards the village.
"Hurry, help the wounded!" Shi Yunfeng shouted anxiously.
This time, Stone Village also suffered significant losses. Many people were severely injured, some losing arms or legs, doomed to be crippled for life, and others had been killed in battle.
Life in the wilderness is this harsh. Fighting fierce beasts daily, injuries and death are common occurrences, though infighting among humans is rare.
"Lin Hu, Fei Jiao, take the ancestral artifacts and go eliminate the group from the Beast Village. Spare no one. Make sure every single one of them is killed."
Shi Yunfeng acted decisively. After attending to the wounded, he issued this murderous order to eradicate the group from the Beast Village who knew the secrets of the ancestral artifacts to prevent the news from leaking and bringing disaster.
Little Dot had fought all day, battling the beast for the lion's body and clashing with the Beast Village people, sustaining several arrow wounds, and then fighting the beast again, exhausted beyond measure.
Yet, he still requested to join this operation. Shi Yunfeng hesitated briefly but ultimately agreed. A gem must endure the trials of blood and fire to truly become a valuable tool.
This was destined to be a sleepless night. Stone Lin Hu and Stone Fei Jiao, wielding ancestral artifacts, led the clan members in a ruthless slaughter of the young and middle-aged from the Beast Village, leaving no mercy.
Blood splattered, lives were harvested, the moonlit night was chilling, the mountains and forests were stained with blood, beasts howled in sorrow, and the atmosphere was somber and cold.
In the brutal wilderness, lives are sometimes as cheap as grass. Many fine young men have died at the jaws of fierce beasts, with a very high death rate, but today, it was human slaughtering humans.
The Beast Village had dispatched 123 people this time. Half of them died in the beast tide, and most of the survivors were injured. Upon learning of the spirit's death, the morale of their people plummeted, and they nearly collapsed.
What followed was a one-sided pursuit. The people of Stone Village counted heads, continuously chasing and searching, eliminating each one.
With the beast dead, the giant wolves left the Beast Village people and returned to the mountains. Some giant wolves even turned hostile, biting several Beast Village people to death on the spot.
"Vile old creature, where are you going?"
Stone Lin Hu roared, drawing his massive bow. An iron arrow flew out, its cold light piercing through the forest, embedding itself in the back of the Beast Village's leader, Bei Liqing. The broad arrowhead pierced through, splattering a large amount of blood.
"I hate this!" roared the Beast Village leader in fury.
"You old bastard, you’ve done enough evil. End your life quickly." Stone Fei Jiao also attacked, swinging his large sword. With a "puff," a blood-stained head flew several meters away, landing on the ground.
With Bei Liqing dead, the surviving people of the Beast Village turned pale with fear and trembled as they fled for their lives.
"Whoosh!"
A cold arrow shot out, aiming at Little Dot's head. It was fierce and precise; if it hit, it would surely pierce through his brain.
Shi Hao heard the sound of the cold wind, quickly dodging and turning around, glaring at the forest with anger. He shouted, "You again!"
Among the bushes, a burly man was concealed but now exposed. Standing over two meters tall, with powerful and well-defined muscles, gleaming with a bronze glow, he was the leader of the Beast Village hunting team, Bei Shandao.
When Little Dot fought the people of the Beast Village, the first arrow wound on his body was caused by Bei Shandao. At that time, he had hidden in the shadows and shot through Shi Hao's arm, causing a lot of blood loss. He was now making another attack.
"Buzz!"
Shi Hao raised his hand, sending a string of beast fangs flying out. It glowed like a divine chain, radiating divine light. It crashed through Bei Shandao's massive bow with a "crash."
With the beast dead and no longer connected to the artifact, Little Dot wielded it more adeptly. The sparkling beast fangs were invincible, with immense attack power.
Bei Shandao drew his giant sword and charged at Little Dot. The cold light of the blade swept through the forest. His incredible arm strength, weighing five or six thousand pounds, was astonishing, and he swung the broad sword like a lightning bolt.
Little Dot's fingertips shimmered with runes, and the beast fang string sparkled like stars. Each fang was translucent and wrapped around the bright sword, making several "crash" sounds as it twisted and shattered the sword into a heap of scrap metal—this was the power of the artifact.
"Puff," "Puff!"
Forty-two lustrous and crystal-clear beast fangs flew out, forming divine spears and light arrows, piercing into Bei Shandao's body. Blood spurted as his arms and legs were broken. The tall, sturdy figure collapsed with a "boom" onto the ground.
The glowing points gathered together, forming a pure white beast fang string wrapped around Shi Hao's wrist, shimmering with light.
"Little Dot, kill him," Stone Lin Hu said sternly as he walked over.
Stone Fei Jiao walked over with a blood-stained greatsword and said, "In the wilderness, how can a real man avoid killing? Though you're still young, you're stronger than us. But if you never kill, sooner or later, you'll suffer a great loss."
"I understand," Little Shi Hao said, his big eyes blinking, his long eyelashes trembling. His face displayed a complex range of emotions—nervousness, pain, struggle, and determination.
"Little brat, I didn’t expect you to grow into something significant. It's a pity that my arrow only pierced your forearm and didn’t strike your throat." Bei Shandao grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth, looking quite menacing.
Little Shi Hao closed his eyes, thinking of Uncle Awen, whom he had shot through the chest with an arrow. His eyes suddenly snapped open as he swung his greatsword down with a "thud," severing the head and spraying a lot of blood.
"Uncle Lin Hu, I’m tired," Little Dot said softly, dropping the greatsword.
He had fought all day, constantly using Silver Moon. The enemies were increasingly fearsome—fierce beasts, ruthless people, and the beast itself. With several arrow wounds and exhaustion both physically and mentally, he closed his eyes after speaking.
"Get some sleep," Stone Lin Hu said, carrying him on his back.
When Shi Hao awoke again, a day and night had passed. His wounds had been treated and were already scabbed over. The pursuit of the Beast Village people had ended; they were all wiped out. Stone Village had acted with ruthless efficiency, sparing no one. Over a hundred heads were piled together, a horrifying sight, and some had been consumed by beasts before they could be dealt with.
"Boom!"
Suddenly, from the deepest part of the wilderness, a blinding firelight erupted, incredibly intense. A bird’s cry shook the heavens, tearing apart the sky.
The crimson firelight was so intense that it made the heavens collapse. A small red bird flew across the sky, its divine might astonishing.
With a "rumble," a golden giant claw descended from the dense clouds, covering the sky and reaching for the crimson bird with unmatched power.
"Swoosh!"
The small red bird shifted sideways and swiftly avoided the claw. The furry golden claw crushed a mountain ridge into pieces, scattering rocks and creating a scene of unparalleled terror.
"Wow, that’s the small red bird I saw before!" Little Dot exclaimed in astonishment. He had just awoken and was witnessing this shocking scene.
"What is happening? Could it be that the battle from two years ago is still ongoing? Is the most powerful ancient species still guarding the mountain treasures and fighting for them?" Shi Yunfeng was also stunned.
"Boom!"
The golden claw descended once more, its demonic power overwhelming, dispersing the crimson firelight. It was almost unimaginable how large its true form might be; even just the golden claw was enormous, reaching through the clouds.
